| Hey everyone,
As we see more people using their mobile phones to come to TIG I'm hearing that some signature .gifs and such are pretty hard on the formatting.
If you have a big signature, especially with graphics, can you please size them down ?
Thanks!! |

| No, just make an obvious visual separation between content and signature 13 votes. You can make that 14 |

| Chris and Paul This isn't about the poll. This is purely due to forumotion (the forum people) launching a mobile app. If you have a larger pic in your signature line the mobile app wraps it poorly and it throws off the appearance overall. Words can be wrapped easier than a photo. That's all. No conspiracy. Elvis is dead, Bigfoot doesn't exist. We did land on the moon. The Lochness monster lives in Oregon |

The forum is provided here so people can hang out together and talk about Star Wars collecting in a manner that's mutually respectful.
I do not care how much you are pissed off at not being able to have large jpgs in your signature, no matter how cool you feel they are. You may not use them in this forum.
I'm sure there are other forums that wouldn't mind having your participation, regardless of it our gifs, jpgs, etc.
If you cannot live with this, leave. Right now. Just be done with it and move on. And no, I don't want to see any goodbye threads. I just want you gone.
If you continue, we will permanently remove your access to the forum. In all seriousness though the large jpgs do make it a pain that I don't even bother checking in on my mobile device. Let's show a bit of respect to all members and keep em down a bit eh? |

| As a long time member of "RS" who has considered trying to find another forum from time to time, I can say that the signature images and huge avatars are a definite turn-off. One thing that they really have right over there is how controlled their interface is.
(Now if only they would take it easy on controlling the conversation!)
It seems like I'm stepping into a long time argument, but I thought I would add my two pence as a somewhat disgruntled Wise-Guy. |

| Skye, welcome first off. As for sig lines, that isnt an old argument. It started in chat one night 5 months ago from someone saying they dont read many posts here cause of it. There never really was an issue about them until that night. Then the poll was started for it and with it came the voice of the members saying they didnt have a problem with it. Now theres more people using iPads or whatever and its messing with them. So what do we do? Stop using them and be like RS? I dont think that would work. We try our best to keep TIG as far distanced from there as possible to show that we are the new kids on the block. TIG is its own forum, no off shoot of RS in no way shape or form. Do we keep using them and have some members not want to come here? Its really a double edged sword argument if you ask me, damned if you do, damned if you dont, know what I mean? So in one form, someone will be upset and not want to be here cause of them, and the other, some will be upset for having to remove them, which I can see their point of view since they have had them since they joined way before the issue came up. Its always been a users choice if they wanted them or not. As for videos in sig lines, I can see that as being an issue. I use a PC at home and it used to fuck with loading for me. But using pix in it, I never had a problem at all. I dont use them, but thats my choice not to. Those who do, want them there for a reason, and thats their choice. Personally, I dont want a Wise episode here where we have to say no to sigs period. That to me is way to demanding of the members and their freedom on this site. If we start doing that, next thing we'll see is a language filter pop up and we cant say fuck no more. |

| I don't think Skye is saying it should be more like RS here, I think he's just saying the website's interface is better (which I totally agree with). For the life of me I cannot read anything on here using my mobile because of the black background. On the plus side though, the smilies here are far superior :smoking2: :smoking2: |

| Thanks for the welcome.
I don't want TIG to be like RS, I was just voicing my opinion because I sincerely wish there to be a good centralized location for Vintage talk. The ONLY thing that matters for a forum is the quality of discourse. In order to have that discourse you have to have the most informed and least annoying people. RS can't seem to stop alienating people and completely misunderstanding their own strength. If they think that losing people like Joe Y and Dan Curto will be without consequence they are quite mistaken.
As a potential defector I thought it might be helpful to voice what has kept me off here beyond the craziness of my life.

If you're on your mobile you can go the mobile version of the site. Just click "mobile version" in the lower right corner. It'll make it much easier to read, but it's still in a beta mode. |

Good to have you here Skye, welcome welcome (or maybe Wampa Wampa) You're point is spot on. It's always about the people. You can have the greatest site in world , but without people, it's nothing. We are very happy to see so many great collectors joining and frankly are very honored that TIG is becoming home to people. Joe coming over to develop a new section is of course another great thing we're doing and we plan to have more development going forward. I'll say that if the size of a sig pic is our biggest issue, we're in a good place So that said, get posting!!! We'll call it even for my rave podcast review (as TDIHeather ) |

| Let me make this a tad clearer. My other post wasnt targeted towards you Skye, not at all. It was a generalization of the topic at hand. No matter what you do, theres always going to be those who like things, and then those who dont. Its just the hot topic right now and I just wanted to make some points on how I see the way its going. I dont want anyone, new or old, to feel like they are being forced into doing something they dont want to do or being targeted. |
