Thanks guys : ) I appreciate it very much! This has been a cool journey. Met some really nice/caring/honest collectors when I started adding pieces to this collection. Have learned quite a bit about the pre-production process and am still learning. I truly enjoy documenting the history, that is half the fun : )
Wolff, asked where does this end???? Great question my friend : ) I just don't know... I have one more piece coming and I will share soon : ) As for finding the rest.... well.... I don't know if it is possible?.?.? Let's start with R5. I have never heard of anyone that has a pre-production R5 in their collection. No sculpts, no hard copies, no protomolds, no first shots, no EP's. Now, if I'm wrong, please excuse my error, but I honestly have not heard of one. I have seen the catalog photos (German) but if someone owns that piece, they are keeping it secret. Again, I may be wrong. So, because of that HUGE obstacle, I can say for certain, I will never complete the run. BUT, I may add some pieces that I don't currently have. They may just end up being EP's. Some collectors aren't very impressed with EP's because they are basically production pieces. But they were used as test runs, so they are 100% pre-production in my eyes. So, I would certainly be more then happy with adding any EP's for the remaining figures I don't have (as long as they have provenance). Some of the remaining figures are VERY difficult to acquire! Hell, they all are... But a proto Vader, in any stage is extremely difficult! Mostly because our/my friend Bill McBride has most of them. Then you have figures like Han Solo, Jawa, Stormtrooper, and C3PO. They are out there, but their current owners are quite fond of them, and they don't come cheap. And also, Luke XWP, only one complete first shot, is known to exist. So when you have this kind of rarity, you'll take any opportunity to add any stage of pre-production for the pieces you are missing. It could be a hard copy (if you are lucky as hell... BUT keep in mind no COMPLETE Kenner wax sculpt/hard copy exists for the first 12, only pieces), it could be a protomold (if you are lucky as hell), it could be a first shot or it could be an EP. That includes parts, or in other words, not complete figures too.
This collection from here on out is going to take years if I want to move forward. So I may be on the outside, looking in, most of the time. And every once in awhile I may be able to add a piece and share with you guys.

I am completely ok if this all ended today. I feel like I've been fortunate and the collection the way it is now makes me happy just as is : )

Thanks for sharing your new additions here and in the Preproduction thread. The Protomold PD is a very cool piece, so much different than the production version.

I always enjoy reading all the background info you provide with them.
