TIG has proudly raised thousands for charity since it's inception. But this year we are bringing it home and helping out a deserving member and his family.

Larry and Crystal Gillis were nice enough to let me share their story. Crystal is bravely battling MS and when TIG staff saw Larry selling his collection to fund medical care we decided to ask the Gillis' if we could help.

So TIG will be offering prizes and such over the next few weeks. Share this over the internet , with anyone you like.  100% of the proceeds go to them. If you have something cool to donate, PM me.

Hi Everyone I am at a total loss for words with all the generosity you have shown to both me and my wife Crystal. I really want to thank you all but that just doesn't seem like enough. I do want to say a very special thank you to John (DarthBerizing) as he took it upon himself to start and organize this cause. I want to also that all those who have made donations on our part and all the warm wishes.

When my wife seen the gofundme page that John sent to us on Facebook and what you all donated so far, she just broke down into uncontrolled sobbing she couldn't believe people who don't know her or barely do would actually give a crap, If you all knew the way she grew up it would make sense. Her family would help her but it would come with a price. When she first got the diog that she had MS her GP spent a few months telling her it was most likely not MS. When she went to see the specialist she figured I should stay at work as it was a new job and according to he GP it wasn't anything to worry about. When the Specilest told her it was MS and she most likely had it since she was a teen he told her he thought she knew already that she had MS. Her dad who took her to the appointment was waiting outside when she got back to our place and told him his response was sorry to hear that he sat fidgeting and looking at his watch when she asked what was wrong he told her he had to leave soon as he was talking a friend out to the bar. her brother reactions weren't much better when they found out.

For me it was a shock and I am still trying to take it all in. I grew up a bit different where you didn't show weakness or ask for help. I still have trouble talking to people I have shared with a few of you some of the stuff I deal with, Like some of you know I suffer from chronic pain/sleep, Depression and PTSD and now I have to help my wife with something I know little about I am in a MS caregiver group learning what I can and doing counseling as well as just talked to a mens trauma center.

I didn't want to say this for you to feel sorry for me or anything I just wanted you all to get a bit of an understanding of just how tough things are and even my work hours have taken a drastic drop although my boss is great to us with giving time for appointments and stuff I am thinking if things don't change soon then I will need to look for a new job.

Best wishes to your wife. The condition is manageable but you'll both need a lot of understanding and support. There'll be ups and downs but we're always here for you.

So sorry to hear about Crystal, Larry. I know it's a very difficult time for your family, and dealing with something like this is never easy, but just remember, you are not alone. There's avenues and supports in Canada to help you both deal with this. I'm not sure if you have already, but I would get in contact with your local MS Society office...they would be a good point of contact to talk to to help getting a plan in place. I also work at a place that helps people with MS, so please feel free to drop me a pm if you want to chat or if you feel you don't know where to turn. Just remember...you are not alone, it's manageable, and there's a community of support out there, and on here, for you to help deal with this difficult time.

And thanks guys she is a client of the MS society and she all ready has gotten a few things via her occupational therapist a scooter and some house aids, I am also going to the care giver support groups through the MS society which really help, as well as counseling for my own issues. They do offer pisio at the MS society but it cost along with everything else that she needs most of the stuff I need is covered via the military for my injury but nothing for PTSD due to the fact it is hard to prove when it possibly started considering since the time my dad left at age 6 til the age of 12 I seen things that still haunt me then after my military service I volunteered as a Search and Rescue tech where I was involved in many good rescues and lots of body recoveries so pinning PTSD on one event is a major challenge but I am going to a men's trauma center this week hopefully it will help.

I really appreciate you all allowing me to contact you if I need to talk I am sure I will as the MS is new ground for me she was diagnosed a few years ago but is slowly getting worse and I want to just fix it but I can't.
