| Im hoping seeings these are exact copies of the, well close to exact, that it might be able to discuss these here, i realise they are not vintage starwars, but seeings they are maybe the first line by any company to try and replicate the original kenner pieces all be it in a 12 inch format, maybe the vintage community might like to give their thoughts on them here if thats ok mods..
Im kind of liking this line, great card backs, keeping the original artwork, and i really like a few of the figures.
The plastic packaging can be opened without damaging them as the back slides out which is a nice touch. LOL, gee they are big, like really big.
I have bought the Blue snaggletooth which i think is fantastic, the cloth Jawa, greedo and have the rocket fett, hammerhead and yoda on pre order.
I think its a novel and nice idea from Gentle Giant, im a vintage purist and have never been tempted to buy any new stuff but this line has really added a great dimension to my vintage collection..
So anybody else bought any of this line, any general thoughts on it, id looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this line.
Heres the line,
Ben Kenobi Lando Calrissian - Edition size of 1500 Blue Snaggletooth - SDCC Exclusive, Edition size of 2000 Boba Fett - CU Exclusive Bossk - To be released later this year C-3PO Chewbacca Darth Vader Death Squad Commander Death Star Droid - To be released in the future - Edition size of 900 Gamorrean Guard - POTF Card - Edition size of 700 Gamorrean Guard - ROTJ Greedo - Edition size 2000 Hammerhead - released march this year - Edition size of 1152 Han Solo - small/big head Jawa cloth cape _ Edition size of 2000 Jawa VC - SDCC Exclusive Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot - Edition Size of 1000 Power Droid - released later this year Princess Leia Organa R2D2 R5D4 - Edition size of 1000 Red Snaggletooth - Released later this year - Edition size of 1000 Rocket Firing Boba Fett - Released April this year Sand people Storm Trooper - SW backer Storm Trooper - SDCC Exclusive Walrus Man - Released later this year Yoda Orange Snake - released March this year in a run of 1600 Yoda Brown Snake - PMG Members only in a run of 450

They just look great in my and probably in any vintage collection. Soon Bossk will also be released..... |

I've considered getting R2 as a Ledy 12" substitute. But I still hold out hope for a $100 real Ledy version I also worry that I couldn't stop at just getting one 12" figure. I also like the Gam Guard POTF version. |

LOL James i know what you mean about not stopping at one, i bought the Blue Snag at Brians for $79 (they are still selling them for that) just because i love the figure, i loved it so much that i cant stop there lol, a few weeks later ive bought a jawa and greedo which look the bomb and ive got another 3 on pre order. The really are a great line from GG. Ive read there are a few misses like the sand people cape and a few other small things, but imho the rest are total wins, the blue snag looks incredible on the wall, they are big, bold, almost have a comedy about them and have a real lot of character about them. Ive totally finished a few loose sets of kenner, so my collectings been going a bit slow, but these guys have really got me back into it. |

| I just thought about buying a Jumbo Power Droid and put him next to my vintage 8D8. That will improve his attitude towards gonks droids a bit, I guess. BTW: I can't wait till the first Jumbo Yoda Green snake appears! |

| Oh, dear Lord, these things are dangerous to my wallet.
So far I only own Darth Vader and I have the Rocket-Firing Fett on pre-order since I missed getting the original CV Exclusive Fett. I've been sorely tempted to get R2-D2 and C-3PO since those were the first two figures I ever got and then there are personal favorites I'd love to get like the Stormtrooper, R5-D4, Death Squad Commander, and Greedo. Being the OCD collector that I can be if I start down that path forever will they dominate my paychecks... |

| really wanted to get the POTF gamorrean , since I have a small focus and collect the coins too . But things kept coming up and never got around to joining the club . Still want to pick up an R2 as well but I think due to the size of these there aren't too many I would want .
I think the only other 2 I would want would be zuckuss and yoda , maybe IG-88 .
I know they were saying they plan to do the whole line but since they jumped around a little already , I was thinking they will end up not doing some of the figures , like madine or imperial dignitary because those figures suck anyway .... and don't try to tell me they are cool because they are NOT !
and now a slight tear I am going to go off on ... there are a few figures from the vintage line that are just stupid , and no matter what , someone jumps in and trys to convince other people they are "cool" . No one can honestly say that they wouldn't have rather had a Han stormtrooper figure as a kid than Crix Madine , a Tarkin over imperial dignitary or a removable helmet vader over any of the 8 ewoks out there . There is a reason no one has an imperial dignitary focus , at least that I know of , and if you do I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul .....

| Those little furry bastards have grown on me over the years , and I think I actually have all the variations on them now too haha , but still if I could go back in time and switch the production of lumat with a Tarkin figure , not that if I could actually time travel that would be a big priority , but some where on my list between kill hitler and punch Dave Daria in the junk before he told my 9 year old self vader was lukes father . |

| LOL, hold on Erik, i love Logray the ewok, and the imperial dignitary was the first POTF figure i got because i loved the purple robes and high monks hat. But im with you with Madine, just about the worst figure in the line imo. Just a heads up, at the Aussie online store CASE FRESH they have a sale atm Han Solo and leia both $40 each, Stormtrooper $50, Chewie $60 and all other stock $70, free shipping in OZ if you spend over $100, and yes they do ship worldwide but not for free. cheers |

Nice Billy Madison reference!! BTW - I think if you own a POTF and Trilogo Imperial Dignitary you have completed that figures' focus LOL As for these Jumbo figures, I'm hnoestly not the least bit interested. I'm even a little surprised TBH at the popularity among the vintage collectors. I'm not saying I'm right, I just look at collecting as 1977-1985 (late 80's for bootlegs) and that's it. Even though I never owned an Uzay as a kid, I still have the nostalgia factor for the era. I will say I've seen a few and they are amazing. Just not down my alley. |

I understand what your saying John, im a vintage purist too apart from a few figures in this line, but ive gotta say, these guys display great, they just have a almost comical look, i started off only wanting a blue snag and in the last few weeks ive got carried away and bought four of them lol. The human charictors do nothing for me at all, but the aliens look great, look i have no time for the modern stuff but once ive had a few of these guys in hand theres just something i like about them, i wont be getting many more as they are very pricy, but im really liking the ones i have, and i do have a yoda on preorder, how could a jumbo yoda not look incredible hehehe Cheers |

| So far I've only bought the Vader to add to my focus, I can't believe how big it is with the cardback!
I'd love to grab Greedo, Walrusman and Hammerhead, I've always loved those colourful aliens. But so far I've managed to stay away from spending the money. |

| My thoughts are that the Luke X-Wing and the yoda are an absolute MUST buy. However, with my wife recently out of work, I won't be buying too much of anything until she finds something.
