Wow lots of talented people On board here. Its been à long time now, but i used to like to draw. This is one off the last drawings i made (at work , unfortunatly i used the scanner at work to scan it and it looks like shit now. drawing looks awesome though! Recently my wife startted giving old furniture a second life by painting them and because was getting packed she sold alot to friends and family. I made these wooden bases for our own using wood from pallets, many people asked if we sold those aswell, so i startted making more in different seizes and heights. Whilst giving some old frames à second life we thought off these display frames (i wish i should had put some SW figures in before i took this pic, to show you the idea).

Thanks guys. I was lucky enough to be exposed to that sort of thing as a child. Some of my earliest memories are of carvings my father was making at the time. I guess i was always going to get into it. Anyone else want to show us their skills? I know there are more of you out there. Don't be shy. Heck, you may end up getting a few commisions out of it. I know I would love if some of you did some work for me, down the track. Thanks to all those who have shared their work. Super impressive it is.

Fascinating thread!! Just to mention a few: Ozio...I sent you an email......just wow! Exeptional good work I think!! I like your carvings too Josh. An kanpping seems to be exciting till the end.....one wrong move...just one.....*sweat* Tundra: Your style is very cool. I like a lot of your stuff! Very well done! I personally have the problem not to focus. As in collecting (just collecting everthing loose), Ill do the same on my private stuff: l`ll do or have done: paintings, carving, drawings (realistics), comics, old techniques, having and oldtimer and reapairing it all the time.....restoring things....building SW dioramas....SW customs----.etc..... My main problem is: I never (or barely) finish stuff. I start it and see this is getting not good enough...and the stop! I just made these for a client: These are openers for letters....copied from the original Wilhelm II. had around 1900. I made 10 of those and could have done even better...but as you may know....time is money :/ Here I started some experiments with old techniques.....its less creative, but sth I have in hand right now (digging for older pictures would last a bit...LOL) All stuff shown here is produced like in the 16th century. I have just bought some pigments (like used earlier) and gold leaf. The rest is mixed up and worked with like then. Historical tools for the wood, eggs for the colors and other stuff to create this. Its more research, but I really regret not finishing her since years: (Copy from a famous retable painting from NL. Rogier van der Weyden. Braque Triptychon.) (No copy. just playing around with old froms in a minature way. Retable style 16th century) (Copy from a background of a retable. Germany about 1530) (yes its real gold.....hand golded with gold sheets......like done in earlie centuries. Its really fun I think) Sadly Im not allowed to post stuff I restored.....the clients have rights and I of course respect these. (copyright and so....Im no MrW.)

Okay. I always knew you were good with your hands Wolf...but wow. Exceptional. I imagine it must be a lot of fun using the same technique as artists from the 16th century to create a masterpiece like you are doing? Would love to see more of your progress there. Always have time for seeing things like that. I would also really love to see anymore carvings you have done that you can share. That letter opener is class.
