| I can complain here, right? Spoilers alert...we've all seen it right?
I dig the movie. No real issues. so its all nit picky...
BUT...
I got a problem with Chewie not hugging Leia at the end. Leia hugs this girl shes never met and Chewie just walks by her after her husband is dead and doesn't even say "sorry i did my best. Sorry we lost a friend today." ? They were the obvious two closest people to Han, they should of had a moment of grief together. Now we don't get to see Han and Luke doing stuff together is a major bummer.
My other thing is why is Luke all teenage emo kid at the end. He must have sensed Chewie and R2 arriving on his goth depressed island. So why stand with your back to her for so long, so dramatic. You'd think hed make them some tea and greet them. If Leia can sense Hans death you'd think Luke could sense Chewie coming from a mile away.
And Luke never trained Leia? I was hoping shed force move something to herself or something. Maybe a mind trick? She wasn't interested in having magic powers? I dunno... |

| I have got so many issues with this movie. I'm sorry, but people of the Star Wars community seems to have totally lost it all together when it comes to this movie. I'm speechless.

| As much as I enjoyed the film, except for the excuse of generating more money for its makers, I still question the real need for it.
I mean the story George Lucas wanted to tell has been told. |

| The more I think about it, the more plot holes I find. Really, this should have been Ep 8. Everything can be resolved in one more movie if they wanted to. They really needed to make a movie leading up to this one. Too much now has to be explained through flashbacks and reverse storytelling. George Lucas always said he didn't like movies that relied on flashback storytelling, and I have to agree with him. Linear storytelling is more powerful. Ep 7 could have been Luke training Jedi, the "disaster", the rise of the First Order Ep 8 = this movie Ep 9 could really wrap this all up
Han's death would actually be more meaningful if this was Ep 8 like I outlined. We would have had the emotional ties of seeing him, Leia, and Ben happy together before the schism. Then, when Han was killed, it would have been more striking. The audience would have all the memories of them happy together and THEN the betrayal. Reality is, there isn't much development in this family relationship in this movie; it is all in the past. That kind of makes it not as powerful as what the directors were shooting for. |

I mean the story George Lucas wanted to tell has been told. I hope Disney and George can collaborate and make a book or interview/documentary on what his version would be. I realize Disney rejected it but it would be a fascinating part of SW history/lore to know what the "alternate" version could have been. The rough draft of Star Wars was made into comic form a year or so ago, so why not? Disney and George could make money. That's what its all about for Disney. And George could still tell his version in some format to allow him some creative expression. |

| That fucking little asshole Abrahms murdered Han Solo. You don't kill off the best character in the whole saga. That's it. You can kill Luke, Yoda, Vader, Obi-Wan, C-3PO or whoever, but you don't fucking kill off Han Solo.
Over and out! |

| This is the worst thing in a movie ever. I have a lot of other issues as well, but this is number 1, 2 and 3 on my list!

| Tommy - I'm taking it you like Han Solo? Lee - I never thought about Leia and Chewy!! However......................................... Maybe they're not sad. Let's think about this. Chewy can finally go back to his family and it's just Leia's estranged husband who ties her to some awful points in her life. Now they're both free of those ties!! |

That's a good point John... Also worth noting that Han was at it again, doing what he does as a smuggler. His days were numbered regardless, I thought the scene with The Guavian Death Gang and friends was another way of foreshadowing what was inevitable. I believe Kasdan and Ford wanted Han Solo to be killed off in Empire... not surprised the Kasdan/Abrams team followed up on that wish in TFA. |

| The line by Adam Driver where he says "I'm being torn apart" was, in my opinion, the best delivered line of the film. Great performance.

| Adam Driver had to work with what he was given as an actor, but as far as I'm concerned, he is Darth Emo. Once the helmet came off, it was downhill for the character. He was so whiny. He made Hayden Christensen look amazing. |

| That's why Emo Vader has "his own" Twitter account now.

His character is becoming a joke. |

His character is becoming a joke. I think it's so easy to do now with the internet and social media, it's instant piss-taking shared at velocity. That Twitter acct was popular very quickly and will probably run out of steam soon until more Kylo screentime. There were some funny ones I thought. |

| Okay, the Vinyl line is hysterical !!
I told someone that I liked Kylo Ren, but I don't like Ben Solo. Without the mask he's just not a good character and Adam Driver is stiffer than I was when I first saw Leia in the bikini |

Cool with the helmet on.. terrible with it off! What about how powerful Rey is already without any formal training? A lot of my co-workers were talking about that last night. |

| Finally watched the film the other day. I thought overall was good and a nice trip back to proper Xwings and TIE fighters. And wasn't spoiled by overuse of the old cast and comical links to the earlier films. Would have been good to see them use original Stormy suits aswell. I agree with the helmet on or off. Hopefully now his face is scarred that he will keep it on so we don't have to be reminded that the greatest threat to the good side is pale faced college student. Bring on the next one....where Luke goes buck ape and chops Golum into a million pieces. |

| Rey having instantly gained lightsaber ability is, I think, a little overblown.
She was already a pretty good fighter from the get go. So I'm sure her natural ability gives her a leg up. But more importantly she's fighting a guy everyone seems to forget was shot and bleeding. Kylo wasn't exactly close to 100% and already fought Finn.
So she beat a shot man who just finished another fight. I'm not taking anything from Rey, just saying that the circumstances make the scene more palatable |

Maybe they're not sad. Let's think about this. Chewy can finally go back to his family and it's just Leia's estranged husband who ties her to some awful points in her life. Now they're both free of those ties!! Yeah, Han Solo is my absolute favourite character. If I could choose to be one of the characters in the movie it would have been Han. I also always identified myself with Han more than Luke or any other character. So for me a big part of Star Wars died with Han. I can't say that I'm excited to see the next chapter. All we are left with is characters who are just blaha blaha. Without the very powerful evil characters like Vader and The Emperor, everything seems so blend. The evil charaters are weak and uninterresting as well as the good guys. Well, Rey was pretty good but it's not eneough. I haven't seen it a second time like I meant to and I'm not sure I will. I have also changed my mind quite a bit in hindsight. When I first saw it I thought it was pretty good, but discussing it and reading reviews and seeing the reactions from the fans, I think there are so many flaws in the movie I don't know where to start. First of all, it's just a remake of ANH. Second, JJ also took scenes from ESB and ROTJ and basically copied them and melted them into one copycat movie of the OT. He didn't add anything new at all to the saga. Yes, it was better than TPM and AOTC, but that's it. It was now way near the rest of Star Wars movies. I will probably enjoy the spinoffs more. This storyline and characters are basically dead for me. Not interesting anymore. It's almost like I don't care what happens to them and that's a bad sign for a movie from my point of view. |

I wouldn't say he didn't add anything new..but I see your point. - Yzerman wrote:

And that was maybe the biggest accomplishment that the majority of the general fans of Star Wars were looking for: "Please be better than the prequels." J.J. focused on making a film for the fans (which included taking classic scenes, dialogue and characters) instead of sitting down and making an entirely new, diverse world like GL has done. Since you're a Han Solo fan, I hope they do right by his spin-off. As far as I know, the only information bout the film is that it's not going to be a complete origin tale, but will have flashbacks toward Han's past and how it shaped his future. Here's the interview with Charlie Rose for those who haven't seen it. George slips up a bit and tells Charlie that he sold Star Wars to "white slavers" |

| I am wwwwwaaaaaayyyyy late to the game on this. Just got home a short while ago and took my seven year old to see it. I enjoyed the movie except for the Kylo unmasked parts. He is so whiny and really even some parts when he was masked he threw temper tantrums and sliced up a chair and computer consoles. Just made him look stupid. Kept hoping he would get killed. Poe ended up being way more awesome than anyone has said. His dogfight scene was very cool.
The first order stuff seemed to be not thought out very well, especially Kylo's part in it. I mean he can read minds and he never bothered to read the mind of anyone in the resistance side including his mom and dad to see how the dark side works out or how Vader changed in the end turning and killing the emporer?
Still it was so much better than the whiny anakin crap in the prequels. |

| I saw it again last week for the second time and enjoyed it the same - maybe even more because I could concentrate on other elements like background stuff and listen more atentively to the music. I'm totally up for seeing it again actually I wasnt that bothered about Ren removing the helmet tbh and at times it made sense to do so. One thing that got me 2nd time was just how cool Han was and how his presence will be so missed in the next episode, even though his checkout was a good plot device imo (a father trying to lure his son to the light side which is an echo of Vader trying to lure Luke to the dark side). I also liked how Han and Leia were estranged and you had this sense of doomed history between them. Still don't get why she didn't give Chewie a big old hug after Han popped it. Oh well, Wookies don't win medals and all that |

| I am way more excited about BladeRunner 2 and the sequel to Prometheus than the rest of the Star Wars saga. I don't know when Blade Runner 2 will premiere, but Alien Covenant(Prometheus 2) will premiere Oct 6 in the US next year. That's the most anticipated movie for me next year. Star Wars died with Han Solo for me. I don't care if the rest of the "Rebellion" gets slaughtered and that whiny Kylo Ren will finish what the great Vader started. I don't care. |
