| Just over a week to go. I'm really looking forward to seeing this. Will be interesting to see how it's going to be received as the first SW standalone movie. I was impressed by the trailers and think Gareth Edwards and co will make a good job.

| I'll be there. I'm excited to see the little Easter Eggs sprinkled throughout the film and I'm still anticipating the tropical AT-AT's. |

| I'm looking forward to this movie, more than The Force Awakens. Got tickets for the Saturday evening. Been avoiding all the trailers as much as possible. |

| Saw it this morning in Imax. The film had everything I wanted - stunning cinematography on the ground, in the air, and in space. Plenty of easter eggs, great battle scenes, and characters I liked and cared about. The film slotted perfectly into the SW timeline, and I loved the attention to detail with the costumes. The CGI job they did with Cushing's Tarkin was outstanding. I thought Vader was a bit 'off' somehow, didn't seem to be the right build as what Prowse was, don't know, maybe just me, but then he more than made up for it with his saber and force attack at the close of the film, wow! Great movie, and looking forward to seeing it again |

| I saw it today. I liked it better than Disney's TFA. Based on the ending of Rogue One, why does Vader bother sending Stormtroopers in first in Star Wars (or Episode IV: A New Hope for those that saw it after 1977)? The scene was cool but I was sitting there thinking if Vader can take out a whole corridor of rebels by himself, why not just do it again and save some troops? That was really the only glaring plot hole that stood out to me, if you want to call it a plot hole. Well, Disney's determination to make anyone except a white male a main character in their movies still is pretty obvious to me. The UN just helped steal the death star plans. I thought the characters were great, but Disney is just pushing it too hard. And last nitpick, the Scarif Stormtrooper was totally useless. If platoons of regular stormtroopers patrol the beaches and are sent into battle, what's the point of the Scarif ones? To sell more action figures, I guess. They had no special features or did anything a regular stormtrooper could not do. The Death Squad Troopers made more sense, and were pretty cool.
No opening crawl was a little weird for a Star Wars movie, but I guess that will be Disney's new norm going forward with stand alone films maybe?
I hope Rogue One does well so Disney gets their studio to make more stand alone movies. Like the Marvel ones, once they get going, they have the potential to be home runs every time. I really REALLY want an "Old Man Obi-wan" movie that shows his arrival and trials on Tatooine between Ep III and Ep IV. That would be epic. |

| "The Star Wars movie you never knew you wanted." Definitely enjoyed watching the movie and IMAX 3D made it that much better. - I felt like there was a LOT of information/ Easter Eggs thrown at us to the point of having to go watch it again to fully absorb it all. (oh, darn! ). - The shout out to Star Wars: Rebels was AWESOME! - Definitely didn't expect the film to lead up to the opening moments of ANH (lead up to the movie? yes, but not the opening moments!) - The shot of the dark corridor with Vader breathing before his lightsaber is shown.. chills! - Some of the deaths were "meh" and I thought that they deserved better. - Going in.. I knew it was going to be a 2 and a half hour, Game of Thrones, everyone is going to die movie.. but I still wasn't emotionally ready. "The Force is with me and I am one with the Force." |

| All the scenes with Darth Vader were great. The new rebellion characters were as well developed as can be for a movie. The scenery was awesome. The action scenes were great. It's different in that it is not the typical happy ending in the other movies. That is the biggest difference for me. If I didn't grow up on the originals, I would probably choose this one as my favorite. My small issue is that although I loved seeing princess leia and grand Moff tarkin, I thought their cgi could have been better. I saw it in xd, so maybe it was more noticeable. One thing that I'm questioning(flaw) is that ponda baba and evazan made an appearance on jedha. Jedha was destroyed. How did they then appear in episode 4 in the cantina scene? They were killed on jedha. If anyone can answer that please do. |

| A month later, I'm chiming in. Thought it was EPIC.
When the trailers first came out, felt like I was back in 1978 (when I saw IV) again. Brought back that childhood feeling more than any post-ROTJ movie. The film was nearly perfect for me. Only so-so part of the movie IMO, was Saw Gerrera. I do wish they had a lot more of Mads Mikkelsen. The man is a genius actor and his role was so small, would have been nice to see about 10 more minutes of him in the film.
But how they all die... there was no more escaping the exploding ship at the last second (in Ep. IV, VI, VII, I) and I was finally happy they made a 'darker' ending. As for the ending, the last 15 minutes was honestly probably my favorite Star Wars battle on film. The Hammerhead smashing into the Destroyer, pushing it into the other ship... which in turn crashed into the gate.
Aside from all that, the best part was the final 1 minute and 30 seconds. Vader, finally the man we wanted to see all these years. The ones from the comics, books... the blood thirsty rage. It was like a slasher horror film at the end which I heard they had to cut down to keep their PG13 rating. I've watched that final hallway scene 50 times (not kidding). |

| I loved the film, I was more excited for this than Ep7 and I think it works in the story line. I do have to say that it didn't hold my daughters attention about half way through she was getting bored. - Bababooeyfett wrote:

My wife asked me this very question my theory was that they were on there way to a ship when we saw them and the time between that and the planet being destroyed was long enough for them to take off/escape. |

| Uh-oh! I hate spoilers. I have not seen this movie yet but thanks for sharing this post here and telling us about the spoilers. I didn’t read the post completely because of it. Also, I was looking for shows by Andy Yeatman online as the ones available on Netflix are over. |

| Welcome to TIG I've seen this film three times - cinema, Blu-Ray, and on TV, and it's easily my favourite from all the new releases. Love it! Let us know what you think after you've watched it. |
