| I bought this a while back and i'm not sure what it's origin is. I've seen a few before but don't remember where they came from? |

| I'm not 100% convinced it's not fading. I have a picture somewhere of a series of fading capes- of all things the grey ones can fade that colour. EDIT I know AFA are NOT the all knowing body but they grade them as faded. |

| I have one of these orange Squids too. If it is fading it has faded perfectly even throughout the cape. It still looks cool with the other Squids though. |

| Yea. Depending on the color of orange they are fake/dyed. Duller being faded and bright orange being dyed. I was big into squids and there has never been a known carded example of an orange caped squid. Correct me if I am wrong boys. I also wanted to believe they were real. What a great color that would have been eh.
BTW does anyone think that texture on Dan's look like a Tri Logo?

| Yeah, AFA may have graded one, but i bet it was a low grade due to the discoloured cape. |

| I had a squid side focus and the bright orange ones are dyed and some are even restitiched, just like the fake burgundy squids.
I had 4 orange cape squids and im convinced its a fctory flaw in the material on the duller orange, hence why AFA grade them as faded.
The bright orange ones were dyed or fake material. |

| I know it's my camera it either takes super bright flash picture's or flat out dark.I can't seem to find a happy medium,it might be the spot in my house were i'm taking them.
My camera makes this orange cape look realy bright and dark but realy in person it look's just like Sergio's flat orange cape squid's. |

| For me only the long caped once are real. They have duller orange color and dont have the horizontal ripped look!
So IMO the pictured one is dyed/faked!

Dan. sorry Dan, but the squid "orange" from Sergio is an AFA 75,so is graded as faded, also it was not labeled as"orange cape variant" Hope this help Javi |

| I pulled my loose collection out today after it sat in boxes in the dark in my safe for 20+ years. I pulled out an orange squid too and just posted it to the FB groups. My question to you guys is this....If they are all fake, how are they all the exact same orange? Was there one guy who happened to have 500+ extra loose squids laying around to dye? Help me out. AFA is NOT someone I would consider an authority on variants. I've seen a bunch of mistakes they've made in the past. Any new info on these would be appreciated. |

| I also noticed that the inner cape is a slightly different shade than the one on the right. |

| That cape looks more bleached than faded. I just dont see how a cape can fade evenly to an exact color. Especially when you have examples from all over the world where you have to take in different factors like climate, humidity, exposure to UV, etc. For something to fade like this in the dark is odd to me. Maybe the factory ran out of material that day and they ran to the local fabric store for a replacement. |
