| After reading a thread on SWFUK about Free Coin sticker sales, I had a look through my cardbacks and found this Free Coin sticker on a Rancor card. A well travelled card as it has a US and a UK price sticker on it. Odd thing I noticed was the sticker overlaps the shop price sticker. I'd have thought the factory would have stuck the offer sticker on and not the shop selling it. So how did it end up on top? [img] [/img] [img] [/img] |

" /> Hey Andy, I am not certain at all but I think those stickers were sent to shops to apply. Over on RS there was some discussion about a recent sale of an unused (or mostly unused) roll of them and I think I read that it came from a store. If that is the case, the sticker placement makes sense.... if not, what I would do is slap it on a flatbed scanner and see if you can see under the sticker to see if it is hiding damage (flatbeds are good at 'penetrating' through some stickers). But if I am right in my thoughts about it being applied at a store, then it should be fine. If I was a nefarious seller and had a roll or even some unused stickers like that, I would only use them on valuable MOCs to hide damage, not a used cardback. Anyway.... just my 2 cents. cheers! |

| Hi guys, stickers were applied in stores, so it is very likely that the one shown ended up on top of a price sticker.... There are examples of ESB cards with the same Free Coin stickers as well....

| Currently, there are a few unused stickers for sale on eBay ($150 each). There was a roll of 100-200 a bit ago for $6,000 on eBay.
So.... I don't trust them too much. |

| I wouldn't have thought that someone would stick one on a basic cardback to increase it's value, but wouldn't have guessed it was the shops duty.
This could mean they could technically be stuck to any kind of MOC due to it depending on what stock was in the shop. Even possibly the early SW backs if stock was left over.

| I'd go with shop applied. A similar thing happened with an offer sticker on the MPC model kits, there was even an auction last year on fleabay for a Kenner boxed item with the MPC sticker offer on it. There was several posts about it on SWFUK & RS but i'll be damned if I can find them edit: found.... http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1103706/ |

| They where shop applied, the roles where sent out with the shipping cartons for the shops to apply at there discretion, which in many cases is why they are slapped on with little or no care and often doubled. |

| Thanks for the answers. My initial thought that they would be factory applied due to offer being unrelated and arguably non or little benefit to the shop which has to stick them all on. |
