| Ok, I don't see nearly enough guys logging in and conversating lately so my goal is to kick off a giveaway and hopefully get our more established members logging in to share (sorry new guys but this time it's for the actual site participants, I have and will do something for ALL at another time). Here is what I am doing: I am going to do a drawing. The entrants have until Friday, May 5th to get their entries in. There is no limit to how many people can enter but each person can only enter once. In order to be eligible you must have 40 posts and have been a member for longer than 60 days. So if anyone thinks they will quickly slam posts, there is a time restraint also. On May 6th I will place all entrants names on paper and have my kid draw a name to receive the prize. Now here is what I want for you to be considered entered in this drawing. I want a small (or large) paragraph on why you think TIG is a great site and how/if it has changed your collecting life. Post the paragraph to this thread. I mean a paragraph guys so no one liners like TIG rules or TIG is great. Put some thought into it please. For example here would be mine: TiG has had a huge impact on my collecting life because I had no idea that all these variants existed prior to being a member here. I have not only discovered coo variants but all sorts of foreign country variants. These have had a huge impact on my collection as I changed my focus from a regular kenner set to obtaining a full lily ledy set as well as learning as much about lily ledy as I could in the process. Tig has also had a personal impact on me as I have formed friendships that I treasure more than any collectable in my collection. For a prize, I have a moc ROMBA from the potf line. The card is not the best though it is unpunched. The bubble is yellowed but the figure looks good and the coin also and honestly the card isn't that bad but has creases in it. Here's the pics:

| Since I am doing this drawing and all, everyone including admin and devs are eligible to be entered so long as they fit the requirement set above.
40 posts on an account that is at least 60 days old, and a paragraph about TiG and your experience here.
Also as time allows I will put your name on the list when you meet the entry requirement, if you don't see your name in this post by the morning of the 6th please shoot me a pm or comment here about it.

| TIG has helped reignite my first love and collecting passion from 20 years ago. Every week I learn something new from our knowledgeable community which either strengthens my collecting focus.. or totally throws it off course because of how cool and interesting the subject matter may be.
Like the majority of us, I originally came here looking for answers. I wanted to soak up as much information as I could on this new collection I was about to start. What kept me here, however, were the members who will go above and beyond to help each other in more ways than just Vintage collecting.
It continues to be a pleasure to contribute to this community and to help members seeking guidance. |

| I really enjoy this place. And I've only been here a day. I've scrolled through looking at collections that I can only imagine. I checked out all of the other forums and didn't find what I was looking for until I found this place. So I signed up. |

| I first discovered TIG when I was looking to verify weapons. At the time I was buying loose figures and didn't have a clue what was real or fake. The site soon put me on the right track and I then joined the forum which had only been up a few months back then. Everyone on the forum was very welcoming and supportive, and this has been my SW home ever since I had no idea at the time that I would one day end up being an admin here and also editor of the main site, which is a pleasure to contribute to along with so many other collectors past and present. |

| This is a great gesture Trappedtexan. To me The Imperial Gunnery is my Spiritual Home of Star Wars on the internet, it was the first forum that I joined. I have collected Since 1991 but back then it was all via toy fairs or posting of for stock lists from toy sellers maybe finding the odd item in a comic shop or a car boot sale, but every thing I was buying was Palitoy and in my naivety I never knew about other companies such as Top Toys or Clipper etc till I read about them on TIG, it sounds stupid but it really opened up my eyes to the Vintage Star Wars toys of the world, it really was like a small time country boy visiting the city and just standing there eyes wide, mouth open soaking it all in. The members on here were warm and welcoming and didn't make me feel like a idiot asking questions they must have herd a thousand times before. I also like that there was a healthy number of members from all over the world willing to help each other out.
TIG really is a great palace what, with the wealth of knowledge on here, the welcoming atmosphere and most important the friendships that will develop.
I'm sorry this is not a paragraph, it's just that I'm not an English scholar so could not condense it down. |

| Sweet, keep the entries coming. Surely the veterans love TIG or they wouldn't post as much as they do. Here is your chance to get a free figure and it's pretty easy to enter, just saying. |

| I just returned from under a rock so I'm at least partially to blame for the lack of activity Brian, sorry. But I'm back now! and thanks for the kind gesture to drive conversation and sharing! TIG is awesome, such friendly, kind and helpful individuals, it's active and constantly changing so I just like reading the posts and everyone's genuine desire to help others. It's the home of star wars collecting offering a wealth of collective knowledge and experience that can only be found where specialists gather. Like many, I started here looking to verify my purchases but found myself contributing and trying to improve the knowledge base by getting involved wherever I can (and time permits). The knowledge and kind people here expended my awareness of the vintage star wars collecting subject and I've gone from wanting to replace my childhood collection (or at least that's what I told my wife ) to multiple complete collections and pieces I never dreamt of getting, and wouldn't have without the guidance of people here - Thank you people of TIG! |

| I have been out of touch on TIG for a while, to no one's fault bu my own. I am going to try to make an effort to post here more often. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem, but I belong to too many sites, and I just loose track.
What I do enjoy about TIG is the incredible database for both repro and original weapons. I also enjoy the Lily Ledy guide, and it has helped me quite a few times to determine if the figure in question is a Ledy or not. I have used the weapons guide many times, and have pointed other collectors to the site on several occasions as well. This is a great group of guys who truly keep the spirit, excitement and emotion of Vintage Kenner alive!
It is very awesome of you to be giving away any carded figure, let alone a POTF card. If you choose not to consider me due to my long absence, I understand. I'm sure the winner will be a very well deserving collector! |

I have done open to all and mainly new guys won (which I don't have a problem with at all) but I wanted to do something for our members who have stuck around a while. My goal was to get se of the old regulars to at least pop their head in and maybe they can see how much they are missed and how much they miss being here. Keep the entries coming guys. Still time. |

| *If my name is drawn, I'll just give it away* TIG really got me to understand the community part of the hobby and became my stepping stones into eventually taking the site over and being it's current caretaker along with the team. I still remember how cool I thought it was when I found out I was going to be asked to be a moderator. It genuinely felt like I was part of the "in" crowd and remember trying to explain it to my wife. She feigned interest and tried to show she was excited for me It'll always be my home! |

| I was invited by Jay to help with the main site along with a few other members, the forum was created to help discuss updates etc & boomed from there. I remember the excitement when we reached 100 members. Variant collectors at one point ( some will say still are) were considered the lower end collectors!! This became a safe place for us weirdos I've seen TIG change through various stages. It has always been my space away from the real world. Mostly happy with a few sad times. I think it will always be an invaluable resource for collectors. It has kept my collection reproduction free and I have met many friends through being a member here. I wouldn't change a thing. Sure I'd like to see more posts like the pre facebook era but it is what it is. I'm proud to call myself admin here ( even thou I probably only earned the title by default due to longevity ) |

| Small update. Cutoff is still midnight central US time to enter. However my kids got a little league baseball game and we will be gone most of if not all day. I will likely not have time to do drawing names and whatnot tommorow so will draw names Sunday if I can't get to it. So again entry time is same, drawing date may or may not change due to schedule. |
