| Found this about possible numbers. - Quote :
- Well some of this guys info is correct the problem is he twists it for his own purposes. There are only I belive 2 known REAL Black caped bibs, both of these are either hard copies or internal first shots. There is also no doubt in my mind that the seller is giving you exactly what he says "This original Kenner Return of the Jedi Star Wars action figure (Bib Fortuna)"
The figure may be real but the cape isn't. James From here : http://forum.rebelscum.com/t811840/ Also, on here I found some other cool shit that should be posted up again. Not a black one in there but a whitey http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t643p15-the-awesome-vintage-sw-pics-that-you-have-saved-to-your-pc-over-the-years-limelight |

| You'd think James would know what he is talking about though, Wolf. Not saying you're not right though, but he reckons there are two. |

Yeah...depend what you call main color.....I have 4 LL Bibs 3xgrey (greenish, greyish, brownish) and burgundy. There is of course also much shades on kenner stuff! Four last are LL. The rest is Kenner and not discolored with exception of the white/yellow cape! |

love to know. as i can investigate further then. This one pictured is surely a fake IMO. If you buy protos like that you pay a few K's. And if so you should get a ton of pictures before! And with those pictures you should contact a Proto expert! This is nothing that just can be "found" as a bargain. Its sth you get cheated on for 99,999999% A preproduction item has normally no markings at all, but it depends on in which production frame it was produced....so some can have leg markings. Legmarks can be sanded off and polished (fake)! |

| see this is the thing i know the guy and have sold him items before and its his best friend that is selling them so i have no real reason not to believe that he has had them stored away for 25yrs that would be 1987 if hes telling the truth, did they even produce those kind of fakes back then??
if of course as i said before he's not lying, but it is his best friend and he's told me that this best mate of his has wanted to sell them for years but just never got around to it.

Judging by the fact that it is his childhood collection there is absolutely no way it's a legit black cape. Any that exist (I think 2) have documented history and are pre-production models. None were produced for retail.
I also never like people to make their auctions private, it's a flag IMHO.

| I get the impression that it's really about several figures and this is among them so if you plan on buying them, think of the cape as fake and buy the stuff, if it turns out legit then be happy, if it's not you wont be disappointed. Just don't pay more then a normal bib for it. These can be colored with common cloth colorings. Maybe he did that too it when he was a kid but don't remember. I've seen many modified figures coming from childhood collections looking like very rare ones, but turns out they are customs. |

There is also a Boba Fett with removable rocket in the lot.
Sure!
Boba Fett seems to have his rocket removed which is most probley a factor error but does come with the leaflet sent out with all fetts in 1978.

| I posted a picture of a Boba that had rocket removed by force in watch out section earlier. Sounds like that's the case here as well.
Edit: Checked the auction, doesn't look like a bad deal anyway checking the other figures, unless the good stuff is touched up. |

| have sent him an email that says i quote
"i hate to tell you mate but i have had alot of bad feedback about the bib, the squid head and the boba fett as fakes the rocket has been puled on the boba and the other 2 bib and squid head have had there capes dyed so your friend is not a good guy at all selling them as genuine, bad stuff buddy thought I'd let you know gonna give these a serious wide birth mate and i would think about letting your friend know they are fake, if he doesn't already know that is! you need to chat to him and mark the items mentioned as repro buddy ok, sorry to give bad news your a sound guy but your friend sounds dodgy as hell.
cheers Mark"
the rest of the items seem ok.
