| Hi guys. I've got another Vader question. This time I'm wondering if the Vader aficionados can help me ID this Vader Figure by the coo and chestplate. The proportions of the Coo looks to me like maybe #3, or #6... even maybe #12 before scarring. But the folds in the pants don't seem line up the same with any of those... The chest-plate has longer thinner buttons (the 3 on the left) than my other Vaders. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheerio - J |

| Looks to me like a V .1a coo on wolffs new 3.0 guide. The main giveaway is if you look at the last 7 followrd by a dot, it is lowered. With regards to the chest plate, there are many sculpt variations out there. Hope this helps. |

| Agreed, perhaps it could replace the old guide in the galleries section |

Even when 3.0 is finished it is wise to keep 2.0 online so in the future collectors can still follow the 'old' loose figure discussions. Remember that 2.0 and 3.0 are not compatible because of the different COO labelling. Thoughts? |

| How about just adding it to the Galleries as a seperate library titled Wolff COOs 3.0 in progress (or something like that) and allowing it to exsist on it's own (even after completion) so that it will also serve as a cross-reference for collectors who still use the older codes once the new library is completed|? |

Hope this helps. I was wondering about something regarding the production of these figures. From what I understand the figures were first cast complete on a single sprue (ie: one mold for a figure) but then the legs, arms, body and head were cast on seperate sprues depending on the base colour plastic to be used. So in that case COO identification catalogues the mold used for casting legs (and possibly other parts of the figure cast in the same color and being on the same tree) but it doesn't catalogue the body mold (which I believe was made from more rigid plastic) nor the head mold. With this in mind I know that the individual limbs were often mixed in the factories and probably so were all the separate parts. So my question is, is there anyone who has endeavoured to catalogue the differing bodies or heads? And if not, wouldn't it be a good library to accompany Wolff's COO library? I for one would like to see all the sculpt variations for the figures and possibly the most common coos these sculpts are found with. Just a thought. (I may have accidently just volunteered for a lot of research... hahaha) |
