cheers Steve, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a couple of the new scale goodies soon popcorn

news....

I was surprised at the announcement that Matt Smith is to leave his role as the Doctor: http://www.doctorwhonews.net/

For me Matt has been a superb Doctor, one of the best, and though I'll be sorry to see him go I really like how the lead character is able to change periodically and add new dimensions to the role - as it's always been with DW.

Thanks Matt for being a great Timelord and good luck to the next actor who takes the keys to the TARDIS cheers

I heard that today when my daughter was watching Newsround (when did John Craven stop presenting it? lol! ). As you say its a cleaver concept that the lead actor can be changed with the benefit of adding a new dimension, but without losing continuity.

Now the question is will #12 be relatively unknown or famous? Gentlemen... place your bets!

The 50th anniversary show with John Hurt should be good!

Today I got my mitts on two of the new 3.75" scale figures from the set of six...

Cyberman and Dalek cheers

The Dalek and Cyberman are both nice sculpts. I checked out the other figures and thought Clara and the Doctor looked okay but as you might expect compared to the 5" scale they lacked detail. The Weeping Angel was okay and the Ice warrior was great. All figures except for the Daleks come with a stand.

Pic of the new 3.75" scale compared with a regular 5" scale Dalek Eternal,

and a cheeky Dalek trio complete with Micro Figure Razz

Please don't hate me. Never seen Dr. Who in my life. No idea what the show is even about really. But I have to say the toys based off DW look pretty damn cool.

Paul, some of the DW toy sculpts are the best I've seen, I love em bow
I grew up with the show so it's characters have been an ever-present. Some of the vintage episodes can be a bit shakey but there are some real classics out there. The modern series from 2006 to present is superb though.

I'm gad you've picked up a couple of the new figures Paul. I've not seen any at retail yet! Did you get them in France or from the UK? Compared to the 5" scale they look tiny. The Dalek has come out well though!

Cheers Steve, I'm in the UK for a few days. No luck finding any vintage SW but always good to catch up with some DW Cool

found these today in a charity shop, didn't realise the Werewolf figure is so big or has such a great sculpt. Not a bad little haul for £2.20 cheers

It's just been announced that Peter Capaldi will be the 12th Doctor!

No offence to Matt Smith fans, but I think Peter will make a better doctor.

Nice one Steve, I just wrote a short piece about this in my blog and included a few vintage Who ads too:

I'm looking forward to seeing how Peter does in the role, congrats to him.

Thanks James, if you ever decide to take the plunge, I'll be happy to help you out if there is anything you struggle to get stateside.

I think a life sized Axon would be great for your Halloween display. Now there's a project for you! What a Face

Great new additions, Steve   The Morbius Creature is just so cool and a figure I def want to add to the collection cheers  Did you get it loose or moc?

I really like the Claws of Axos set too, did you see the other set they made from that episode as well?

My mate from UK bought me the SDCC Ace figure with acessories when he visited recently. Will try and get some pics up tomorrow.

James - if you do take the plunge there will be no return! There are too many damn good figures out there to ignore   The line is concentrating on the 3 3/4" scale for new releases, but luckily still making the 5" scale for classic series which is my favourite scale.

Oooh! that other Axos set is VERY nice. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for that one.

The Morbius Creature was moc, but the bubble was very scuffed.

I'll look forward to seeing your SDCC Ace figure. Very Happy

Here is the Ace figure released by Underground Toys (sub-licence to Character Options).

She's one of the best figures I've seen for accessories:
removable jacket & interchangeable arms,
RPG launcher with removable rocket
3 Nitro canisters
Baseball bat
Functional backpack

The detailing on her jacket is great - you can see her Blue Peter badges cheers

Thank you for sharing the trailers Paul. I've not seen any of those.

I have to admit, the Silvester McCoy years are one of my least favourite of the DW franchise, but that is one very cool figure. I really like the detail on the jacket & all of the accessories.

Glad to see I'm not the only sufferer of 'Dalekmania'

Here's mine:

I often pair up/face off the Daleks with Action Force Muton's in Robo-men type scenarios:
