Hi All,

I'm sure the community is well aware of the recent figure reproductions by Smith Lord Creations.  I didn't see a guide up on TIG yet, and thought I would contribute some beginning photos / knowledge to help the community identify these new reproductions.  I do have an original Kenner Yak Face, with some paint missing, that I'm using for the photo comparisons.

In hand, the SLC reproduction Yak Face really feels like a Kenner action figure.  It has solid weight to it, the plastic appears like an original figure, and all 5 joints are articulated.  The paint is good quality and overall the colors are a good match.  At a distance, or in a photo, this figure would be extremely hard to identify as a reproduction. Up close there are a few differences noted in the photos below.  The SLC Yak Face I purchased, was a loose variant.  They are also being produced carded and I'm assuming the carded figure/weapon is identical to this loose sample.

From behind, the SLC reproduction has less definition in the head sculpt, and it does not have a pronounced mold line like the original. Also the wrist details appear to be slightly less defined on the reproduction

Again, up front the face detail is a little less pronounced on the reproduction and the original has a more noticeable mold line down the center.
