So without a preamble I'm opening a toy store!

i wanted to make Imperial Gunnery a store but New York banned the name because it sounds like a gun shop!! So I'm proud to say that The Imperial Castle Toy Shop will be opening for business soon. It'll be a mix of vintage and modern toys, and hopefully some great other things!!

Good luck John, you give so much (most of which is behind the scenes) to promote the hobby and give us the freedom to enjoy on this great site and meet equally great people from all over the World including Beautiful Aberdeenshire!

I may have known that this was coming, but I saw the title and freaked out for a second thinking you were leaving the hobby or something.

I am very happy this is still moving forward and I wish for nothing but success for it.

Also does being a tig member mean we get a discount. . Kidding. I am sure in my case there is an up charge.

Congrats my friend I got the link from FB for it, would love to see the store in person but there is the web shop and I already am eyeing some of the Gentle Giant busts already .

I was just thinking being the store has the whole Star Wars feel to it, I was thinking for your grand opening you could see if the 501st New York Garrison may be interested in showing up for it. I can send you the info for contacting them if you want.

I'm sorry I'm not terribly active right now here, it's crazy trying to get everything up and running. I mean I'm trying to do in 2 weeks what normally takes a year!!!

I think you're going to need a security guard on duty 24/7 for that vintage shelf though..

Looks good, I imagine you were explaining this wall is funko pop, reaction, etc. This shelf will be star wars, custom star wars, etc.

I love the window with the tie fighter. That can even be a long lasting window display by changing things on it. For example at Christmas you can throw some garland up, or put a Santa hat right on the tie fighter cockpit and then you have a seasonal display.

Cant wait to see the finished store.

I have to admit, this has also been a dream of mine for many years. I'm glad someone was able to make their dream a reality! Congrats, and I hope for nothing but success! Please do keep us posted as the store fills up.

With Christmas right around the corner and toys being a top thing for gifts, I was curious if it will be open before Christmas is upon us? Its not an easy task nor small one to open a store at all. How is it going overall?

If you can believe it, I had my grand opening today!!!!





It has been a grueling month but it's done. I'm not sure it'll be a success but I'll be able to say I stood up a functioning fully stocked toy store in about 5 weeks
