New section added to the main site:

This new section "Reproduction Figures" will document the arrival of vintage reproduction figures onto the collecting scene.

It begins with the reproduction Stormtroopers first limelighted by Mark Poon in early 2012.

It saddens me to think of this and where it will inevitably lead over time, just the other day I had a huge sort out through all my weapons and found 4 repro, that had slipped past me at some point in the past, that iritated me greatly, couldn't imagine how much it would piss me off to realize I had a fake figure!

Absolutely fantastic update, well written, great pictures, great comparisons. Yet again, another article that is a credit to this site. cheers

Great work - won't say much more in case I get banned from another site - but glad to see this sort of information being made available so that newcomers to the hobby can read up on it

They've also turned up on Dutch auction sites (now they are still sealed, but in near future probably mixed in bigger lots with other figures). To me, from now on, every stormie is subject to suspicion.

If i had to guess I'd say Luke stormtrooper will be next, it only needs minor changes to create new molds for those and hey.. The helmets are already there.
If not LS, than Biker scouts. Probably the most sought after army builders and easiest to reproduce. (besides Vaders possibly).

What a great resource. Glad to see these being referred to as repros and not customs or bootlegs. About time someone properly highlighted the potential damage to the hobby.

It's funny, as I was surfing this morning. I found another advert on ebay for more repo troopers. It's like they are watching the TIG site and when the topic come up, so do the ads. unsure
