| Besides collecting Vintage Star Wars I also collect comic books. Anybody got any to show off? Loose, graded, anything? I looked for an old comic book thread, but I couldn't find one. Maybe I missed it... |

| Mine are all packed away with no pics at the moment, but I only go after key issues in the silver and bronze ages. I would go after golden age but they are out of sight in price so not many affordable keys to me. Even the silvers I was checking a few prices the other day and am glad I got most of them years ago.
Matt (darthmatt22) also collects comics, I know Paul (kisstour) also have comics, but not sure the extent they collect. I will try to dig mine out some time. Most are in a cedar chest, only one graded if I remember right and it was a pgx not cgc. |

| Funny you made this thread as Matt just made a thread about a recent pickup. Check the next thread down. A hulk 181. |

| Great comic (and Netflix series!) With Season 2 around the corner, DD and it's other characters like Punisher, Elektra and Kingpin are up -- it's selling season! Here's a link to my Marvel limelight thread from a few months ago -- http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t8122-my-other-collections |

| I tried several times to get a daredevil 1 but it never panned out. I even have a few daredevil 1 foreign editions. Not the German reprints from a few years ago, but actual one printed in the 70s. Still later than the American but not modern. This is going to be quite a thread to watch. |

| The closest I have to one is that cover in giant poster form on the back of one of my doors.
I kinda like the yellow suit but it never did match the name. Good thing Stan changed it! |

| It will take some time, but I will eventually dig out all my stuff and get photos if you guys are interested. I don't buy much in the comic world anymore, but if some death of superman original art came up I would be all over it. I do still buy a few trades here and there but usually just batman or lately judge dredd.

| @ the Wolverine memorabilia. It's unfortunate about the value stamp in the 181 but at least you actually have a value stamp to go with it. If you were to CGC it, they'd give you a green label signifying incomplete, but still preserves the book in case it were to get bent, ripped, etc. Instead of doing that, I would just go and buy a comic book frame and hang it on the wall. Another annoying little tidbit is how if CGC doesn't witness you getting an autograph, even a well known one like Stan Lee, a green label is issued that says "Name written on cover in marker" -- stupid! Because of this, collectors I know have sought out other grading services where you can send in autographed books and they will grade it and label it accordingly because they have someone who specializes in identifying autographs. The most popular one being CBCS and their 'red labels' Purple is the one label you never want to see.. at least in my opinion. Restoration, bleh! I've done dry restoration before, but once any type of liquid is involved (water, marker, paint, etc.), that's automatic purple label when you submit. The toys are super cool! Again, Herb Trimpe was always a nice guy and I kick myself in the ass whenever I think about having the opportunity to buy a commission from him, not having the money and later on he passed. The other signature could be Len Wein? _________________________________________ Death of Superman stuff is great. I remember watching a comic documentary about how when it came out, everyone thought it was going to be the highest price comic book ever, but since it was mass produced, that wasn't the case -- not to say what you're showing us isn't valuable, especially since it looks like you have complete sets of the memorabilia. The best part about it is the story of your grandparents. Sad that you had to associate the two events, but to have a grandfather like that is special.

Trades are the best way to stay current if you can't get to the comic store on Wednesdays/ often. |

| Either way. I think a new thread is fitting but there is still plenty of room in the other if you guys want to add there. Once threads reach around 60 pages is when they need to be split up so the older thread is only about 1/3 full. |

Speaking of season 2 and the Punisher...
One of my favorite covers! Can't waaaaaaaiiiiiitttttt to see him on DD Season 2. Especially bc of the actor they chose. I wonder if they're going to introduce Bullseye by season's end? I mean, Elektra is going to be in it so that would make for a KILLER season 3 I should jump on a few issues of #131 then...
