| Subject: Help identifying a metallic bespin blaster. Sat Feb 23, 2013 4:39 pm | |
| Hello. I am in the middle of selling my childhood action figures on eBay. I never had many Star Wars toys other than a handful my dad picked up at jumble sales at the time. The reason I have registed is to satisfy my curiosity more than anything. Thing is I came across a metallic blue gun which I have identified as a Bespin Blaster. However on the site gallery I used to identify it I couldn't see one which was just the right colour. Here it is. On another site I read people talking about Metallic blasters but I couldn't really find much info. What really piqued my interest was that within 5 minutes of putting up on eBay for starting at £1.99 I had two emails asking if I would give a Buy It Now price! I'm just going to let it run it's course though. I'm pretty sure it's not a fake as it'd been sat in a box up my parents loft since the late 80's! Any info would be much appreciated. Cheers, Bruce |

| I sent you a pm Bruce with info but yes indeed this is a metallic blue bespin blaster. Some also call it irredescent. You can find it sometimes with some Spanish PBP figures like Lando black neck for example but, as rare as a blaster it is, i have also found them in the UK from time to time. I remember getting one with a scarred no coo Lando Bespin quite a few years ago in this country (UK) To me, like some 'so called' Spanish variant figures, they can be found in other parts of Europe, not just in Spain. Still a rare blaster and i'm sure they'll be a bidding war on for it now |

| To add to Lee's answer, here is an example of an European card holding the metallic Bespin gun. Taken from this thread: http://forum.trilogo.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=196&hilit=metallic I am interested to know which of your childhood figures could have come with this gun. EDIT: Put the correct link to the thread now.

| Bruce, I'm glad you didn't fall for the low offer BIN scam. There are some really dishonest people out there just looking to line their pockets. What are their eBay usernames? |

| Scam?!?!
I asked if he had a buyitnow price, why is that a scam?
So my black palace blaster I sold on SWFUK for only £10 when they ask upto £25 on eBay, was I scammed? Nope!
Asking what the seller wants, I see no problem with. If they offer the item at a lower than normal price and both parties are fine with that then it is not a scam.
If I told him it's a worthless piece of junk I'll give you 50p that is a scam!
Big difference.

| Agreed.
When people ask for a BIN of $200 for a POTF Anakin, for example. I think that is scamming and dishonest. |

| Glad Bruce got his answer.
As for asking for BIN, here's a simple rule of thumb. Let's say an item is worth $100
Okay - "Hi, do you have a buy it now price?" or "Would you take $90?"
Not okay - "I think it's a fake, would you take $5?"
Walkie, sounds like you simply asked for a price. No harm IMHO |

| At the time there was no bids on the item and then I was also the first person to bid.
I agree that a seller pulling an auction when other buyers have bid on it is very shady.

| I can confirm that there were no bids on the item when I was asked about a Buy It Now. I certainly don't feel that anyone was attempting a scam. I was asked if I'd consider a BIN and it was accepted when I declined. Good manners all round I'd say. As to which of my childhood figures could have come with this gun I have no idea. I had a handful of Ewoks, a Leia as a bounty hunter, and a few others. I don't think I ever had a Luke or Han or any of the other major people. I read on an Action Force site that some late issue Baron Ironblood figures were packaged with Star Wars blaster though. Perhaps it came with him? |

| I'm pretty sure you are referring to the han solo blaster which came with the Baron Ironblood figure referred to as "variant 3". |

Yes it went to someone from here (not me). And we know where this weapon belongs and what it is!: See Marcos post on page1 and/or read here: http://forum.trilogo.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=196&hilit=metallic |

| I received the metallic blaster in well order and very fast. Thank you Bruce! I could confirm its identity by comparing the one from Bruce (bottom) to another one which I got from Spain last year (middle). Bespin V5 blaster: Normal (top,) Metallic (middle and bottom). |

| Marco posted a few post above that the mold is version 5. I don't know if there are other molds used for this weapon. |
