Subject: Squashy, rubbery Boushh helmet? Tue May 10, 2016 11:09 am
Hey Guys!
I have a weird one here I think. I looked at the TIG guide and only one variation is documented which, from the images provided, looks like a solid plastic TW helmet, but it's hard to tell from just images.
Looking on the forums here there appears to be two moulds for the Boushh helmet, an HK and a Taiwan. The HK tends to look shinier than the TW, and I'm certain mine is a TW mould, however no-one says theirs is "rubbery", some say softer plastic but my is actually rubbery and I would like to know if I've got a fake or an original. I created a YouTube video to show the "squashy" behavior of the accessory.
Thanks for your great help as always guys! Mat

I'm no expert but it does look and behave in the same way as the TW helmets I have.

Thanks for your replies. I'd just not had anyone describe it as soft & rubbery before, and I remembered playing with my friends Boushh as a kid and the helmet was solid hard plastic so I wondered if I had a modern remake or something. I've accidentally acquired duplicates of half the last 17 but this is the only Boush I've ever had too which makes it harder to identify/compare.
Thanks for your confirmation guys!
Could I perhaps suggest an enhancement to the helmet section on the guide to include both helmet moulds and describe their texture & feel?

I don't have a HK helmet at the moment but if anyone does I'm sure Paul (Artoo_Detour) would be happy to add this version.
We should remember that as members of TIG the completeness of the guide is our responsibility. Any omissions or gaps should be rectified but it depends upon us as enthusiasts and collectors to do this. Photos should be in the same format as on the site and you can either PM Paul or post them in the TIG Content and Reference Library section. http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/f2-tig-content-and-reference-library
It's an invaluable source of information and the more we get involved the better it gets.
