Ok 1st off I want to say it feels good to be back on the boards! :cantina: and released from my Carbonite prison lol!

Ok so it's been awhile since I was collecting and need to jar my memory again Sleep :I am stupid:

With the 1st 12 Figures are any COO's 1st Release?

And how to know if it's Early Bird? (Is it just by the letters on the saber?)

I need some Yoda Knowledge yoda  :cool laugh:

Thanks Stormie Smiley

P.S. As you can see I really missed these cool emojis

Wondering where you been!! I was worried sick young man!! lol!

Far as I know, first 12 can be any COO. I know people like to call a figure an "early release" by using something like the color of R2D2's dome or Chewies bag. To my knowledge (and I grant you I'm not a variation guy) there is nothing definitive to say that "This Luke came off a 12bk card"

I'm sure others will chime in

Haha I've just been focusing on Vinyl, Resin Art toys for awhile. But with new SW movie, cartoons & watching my plastic Galaxy DVD I really missed collecting and got bit by the bug again. Unfortunately I may have decided at the wrong time since prices have gone way up on some of the loose figs, so I have a steep hill ahead lol.

Thanks for the info and can't wait to hear from others.

I've also heard that a KK lettered saber is Early Bird.

June, I think the early release are mainly Hong Kong figures, possibly some Taiwan like on leia or Luke and vader. I don't think it matters as long as it is one of those two countries. I might be wrong, but the no coo or raised bar coo or China raised bars all came later as the line existed and expanded which countries produced the figures.

As for the sabers, I have heard that when the line first started, the sabers were marked with mold letters to show which cavity was having issues if one did, as the line went on and other molds were introduced, the letters were phased out from the cavities as they were producing less sabers since a stockpile was in existence. Weather or not this is true I don't know, but I do know some double telescoping have cavity letters on them while the earliest "circle" dt sabers don't have letters on them but rather a dot. This would indicate that by the time they began single telescoping they had cavity letters and then later removed them lending truth to what I have heard.

Thank you for the info @trappedtexan

The whole saber thing is awesome, really interesting. I didn't know that's why they marked them with the letters.

Hey JJ, been a while!

Bryan hit the nail on the head. I once 'believed' in the whole early bird figure thing- dark blue dome, green bowcaster etc. ALL myths. I still think big copyright 2 line Luke is 'early bird' but not exclusive. Chewbacca bowacster can be flat or round trigger guard. The five Taiwan- Vader, Leia, Luke, R2 & Chewy are only ever Star Wars era cardbacks- but never in an early bird kit. ( Vader Taiwan vs MIT probably needs further research) and yes any 'altered' moulds no CoO/China etc. would not appear on 12 backs.

What's up James bow

It's good to know that the Green weapons are not early bird! Even thou it running rampant on eBay, I saw an auction for a So called early bird R2 dark blue dome for $150 head bang not sure if that's what it's currently going for cause I've been gone for a while. It's good to know that u think its 2 line as I see 3 line Luke being thrown around a lot.

Thanks again, it's feels good to do research on this again. Time to hit the reference guides hard again. Lol

June, I personally don't put much faith in eBay listings being 100% accurate. Unfortunately this really applies once you go back down the ledy route. Lots of junk labeled ledy that isn't.
