Hi Guys -

Well its that time of year and its time for another pumpkin carving contest


The Rules :

#1) Your Pumpkin (or melon) must be Star Wars related and have at least have a small "TIG" carved , painted or drawn on it somewhere . Please be sure that the "TIG" is visible in at least one of the photos that you post     .

#2) Your entry can be carved , painted or decorated in whatever way you see fit . Be creative in whatever form you like - as long as it is a Pumpkin (or Melon) and its Star Wars related we don't care how you present it  

#3) You may enter as many different Pumpkins/Melons as you like

#4) Entries will be accepted from today through the 31st of October .


The winner will not be chosen until after the 31st so that everyone has plenty of time to participate if they want to  

I have been informed that Pumpkins are not plentiful everywhere in the world (Particularly in France ) . So , I have edited the rules to include watermelons , cantaloupes , honeydews or any other damn melon you can get your hands on . Now even those of you who live in Pumpkin deprived countries can participate  

I would also like to recommend "Funkins" (or any other brand of fake pumpkin) to those who enter . The fake foam pumpkins are easy to carve and will last you a lifetime . I like them because I can use them year after year and it helps make the effort that goes into carving a pumpkin more worthwhile


There will be 3 categories this year again :

1) Traditional Carving

2) Sculpted Carving

3)Funniest Carving

a prize will be awarded to the winner of each category


TIG team members Marco (Dr Dengar) , AJ (Aussie James) and James (ourchickenshack) will be the doing the judging - so we will not be entering pumpkins in the contest  


All Right ... what are you waiting for ?  Get your knives out and start sharpening , make your blueprints and get to work

I think I'll start buying my fuel here ...

I've been promised a delivery of pumpkins will arrive Friday, so hopefully I'll get an entry in at the weekend.

Woot, time to go pumpkin shopping! My buddy has an orchard and huge garden, I should be able to get some good pumpkins to work on.

I hope to be carving up a pumpkin this weekend and give this a go this year.
I'll be trying my hand at my own template and depending on how it goes might be a straight carve or carve/sculpt. Not sure how my template is gonna work and one mistake will dictate the direction! haha

I have a favor to ask of anyone that has created their own design and transferred it to their pumpkins.
I am working on one now and need advice to see if it will work as I think it will. I'm worried on structure and don't want to muck it up/
I don't want to spoil what I am working on (nothing fancy or elaborate) so if anyone can maybe help me and take a peek, can you drop me a PM?
