| Fyi: The weird gun with Wedge was actually created for the orange MonCalamari (it fits on the outside of his right forearm with the small wire in his grip). |

Thanks man - there were so many accessories I was afraid I might get some mixed up I'll make sure to correct it before I send the figures to Marco |

Great Cantina Aliens. Thanks for posting pictures, James.
Melas and Muftak are some of my favourites from this set.

Jim, pics of your Scout Retrieval Vehicle have been added to your post now. Would love that Kenner had released such a toy back in the days. I mean who needs a PDT-8? (except C-3PO and FX-7) Here is a link to the Kenner's unproduced version: http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=48885 |

| Thank you for making pics of yet another bunch of Cantina figures, James. Threvann is a great figure. Also like Kabe, the small rat like creature. Lamproid the leech like alien is scary as hell. BTW: just learned something new, Kabe is not a male but female. In fact she is the adoptive daugther of Muftak, the big ice bear alien. The Extended Universe certainly has some interesting story lines for background characters. Not kidding you. |

Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina (a Star Wars book of short stories has some other interesting takes on these alien back-stories. |

| Bom Vimdim was one if the first customs where I was experimenting on how to reattach limbs. I didn't know about boil-and-pop so I cut off what looks like Joth Luke's arms, drilled holes tgrough the shoulders, and then stretched a cut rubber band through the arm holes of a Boushh body. I then pulled the band through the drilled holes and knitted them. I later used a similar method with string to make the entirely sculpted Ephant Mon, Box, and a couple of others. |

| Subject: Labria, Ishi Tib, & Myo Mon Sep 29, 2014 2:33 pm | |
| It's really interesting looking at these pictures, seeing the figures again in a new way.
This group has some interesting points as far as my customizing techniques changed. Not only was I experimenting with how to make functioning arm articulation, but I was really enjoying doing head sculpts (especially Ishi).
You can see how at first with a character like Labria, I was using any figure I could find as a base; in his case a John Smith Disney Pocahontas, with a completely sculpted head, a cloth cape from scratch, and even a gun made from Sculpey and probably bits of plastic.
The Myo figure kind of sticks out in comparison because the new PotF "buff" figures were too easy to pick up and use near the end of my time on these guys. |

| Really enjoying the alien series @James, thanks for all the photos! @Marco, it must be nice to see all these figures posing in James's graden! @Jim, thanks for the commentary. Can I ask what type of paints you used? Did you use a primer and varnish for before and after? Thanks! I like the paint job on this: - ourchickenshack wrote:

I used really cheap craftstore acrylics, sometimes using 3 or 4 coats. Then on some of the earlier shinier ones, I used a semi-gloss sealer but later -- such as on Ishi Tib -- used a matte Hodge Podge spray. |

| Subject: My Story Continued Tue Sep 30, 2014 12:12 pm | |
| After my boys got older, my creative 'grew-up" a bit and I started classes for oil painting and got hooked up with a gallery. You can see some of my work at www.JimHeston.com I occasionally sell some to individuals. I have sold a set to a university, and have done a few live-painting gigs at weddings (a few of which were very stressful). My boys really like the Galactic Heroes more than other figures because they were a little cheaper and smaller but more importantly because they usually didn't have to keep up with accessories (until the removable helmets started). They also liked the Super Hero Squad, Combat Heroes (GI Joe), and Adventure Heroes (Indy). Of course the 2-packs all had Spidey or other repeat figures so I started customizing the extras and have done a ton of each of those lines (and some of others such as Johnny Quest and Harry Potter). You can see these at http://du5tin.proboards.com/board/7/customs. My username there is WaterTorture (the threads of my customs have WT in the title). Here are a few samples: https://www.flickr.com/photos/113237355@N07/14692346425/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/113237355@N07/14689172521/ Since posting these customs on eBay, I have had several requests for commissions. A really exciting new project is creating Star Wars statues/maquettes of pre-production creatures Ralph McQuarrie sketches or other sources like the one below that recently sold: [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/126511477@N02/15147587580/] |

| Very cool EU customs I recognised a couple of them because last year I was reading with my son the 'Star Wars Essential Guide to Characters' by Andy Mangels. The book has some really nice comic book style illustrations. |

I did take the Heir to Empire characters' likenesses from the comic book series adapted from those books which the guide uses as well. |

| I would love suggestions from you guys for new vintage Star Wars projects: -figures, vehicles, -play sets, -or other.
Joining you here on TIG has really given me inspiration (I get obsessive) to explore new customizing creations. So, thank you. |
