| Just basically wanted to show my appreciation to the good folk here at TIG!
Like most people here, I am a member on most of the big Star Wars forums, but unlike the others TIG seems to be the only one which attracts the true Gentlemen of the Star Wars collecting world.
To me it is also the only site that seems to be truly dedicated to the Vintage Star Wars cause, the site homepage itself being a guide to identifying real from repro weapons, and it's the only site that appears to have dedicated info threads towards specialist topics such as Lili Ledy and POCH/PBP.
More importantly though, this forum is free from bickering and pettyness, sites like RS can barely host a thread of any kind without it ending in an all out war.
But to me, most importantly, the people here are great, I've met many people through tis site who I've never met but now consider as friends. When ever I've had questions there has always been people more than willing to answer, and when it comes to dealing with people in a buisness sense, I've always found the folk here not only genorous and trust worthy, but people with a real sense of pride in the hobby and a willingness to share knowledge instead of belittleing people wih it. Basically people who are a genuine asset to the hobby seem to end up here!
Congratulations TIG! The home of Gentlemen! |

| My sentiments exactly General - TIG has the best members and information available hands down I avoid the "other sites" like a plague because of the non stop BS , bickering , whining and complaints . It took me quite awhile to start participating here at TIG because I was afraid I would get yelled at , but after reading the threads and watching the behavior and pleasant attitudes of the members , I realized that this is the place to be I too have gotten to know alot of cool cats here and really appreciate the friendships that have developed . I have never participated in any other internet forum (even non Star Wars related ones) at all and I still feel the only place that is worth my time is TIG - and that is because of the high quality people that are members here Thank you to all the mods and members who make this the great site it is |

| Here here! I have been interacting on the "internet" since the early 80s in the form of Commodore & DOS based BBS', NNTP, IRC and forums. I have built, run, tweaked, hacked (in a good way) all of them. I ran sites with over 50,000 members, 1000s of which were active members every day; I ran them for profit, I ran them for fun; I admined and/or moderated a ton of sites in different interests, but NEVER have I posted like I have here!!! I smile a bit when I see over 1000 posts in about 6 months! It amazes me that for about 5-6 other forums I do engage with, the sum total off all of them would be maybe around 800 posts spanning the past decade!!!! I shit you not. Even including my longest online endeavors dealing with Forza Motorsports with building and running sites about it and posting on boards barely saw me post near 400 posts in the past decade. I was always the behind the scene tinkerer and would only post answers to problems or the occasional "Hey, How You Doin'?" This place is a great resource, but the poeple have really dragged me in and without knowing it, made me a poster for the first time ever! There is always a topic to read, whether it is old or new. Sometimes information, sometimes a good laugh and sometimes just a topic to take your mind of crap. There is always something. So, hats off the DB, the Mod team, every member, old or new... TIG really is in a different class! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Maybe we need a new forum logo... Joking a part, I have to agree 110% with the comments above. Like many I duck in and out of several other forum sites and the amount of bickering and BS is unreal. Since been a member on here i've made a lot good friends and feel gutted I won't be at CE2 to buy you all a beer! As far as i'm concerned TIG is the best forum, and online resource for variant collecting online!!

| I'm a member on a couple of other SW forums but as of yet i have felt no need to post on those sites i check in on them every now and again but i definitely don't check in every day like i do on TIG. I know that if i got to know some of the guys on the other forums it would open up more opportunities to upsize my collection more quickly, through the classifieds. But i'm in no real hurry really and i just don't get the same vibe from those other sites as i do from TIG. Also i find that TIG is the most user friendly with regards to posting and putting up pics etc... (recent glitches with the new layout aside of course ) with regards to being a valuable database for reference and information, well then TIG is unrivaled and the fact that those who contribute are all really friendly guys all of whom are happy to help, with information and advice, is just the topping on a great big lovely TIG cake heh heh ok thats enough cheese |

| There is no doubt at all that TIG is the best forum around. The members and mods are all great guys, and not one elitist attitude has belittled anyone that I have seen. Plus there is no place else that has the types of awesome threads that get bumped like here. |

| I've always preferred TIG over other SW sites for the above stated reasons. Much less BS and bickering. I check in on TIG a few times a day and usually post most days. Which is saying something considering I don't even actively collect any SW right now. But I do want to keep in touch with my pals here. |

| Glad you all agree, there is always a good atmoshpere here and a patient one as well, we've all asked stupid questions before that we cringe at now, and probably still will, and again this is the site that handles those questions with the most dignity without making the person asking those questions feel like an idiot. That said, I have a yellow Stormtrooper, is that a variation??? Remember where you are Tiggers before you answer! |

| As always Jim, handled with care and amusement, which sums up the thread quite perfectly. Out of curiosity though, how would you handle this question with merited TIG dignity : "Hi I'm new to the hobby and would like to know if there is an R2-D2 variations that's getting molested by Princess Leia????" Any thoughts |

| Did I mention that there is no other star wars forum that is as cool as TIG. Leave it to James and the General to bring excitement to every thread. |

| Well, I do collect variants I guess See if this had been posted on RS we'd all be slagging each other off by now! Instead we've reduced this thread to humour and pornography, two other things I love as much as Star Wars |

| Figured we could use a new logo for our more debonair members...
Seriously guys, thanks for all the kind words. Really they're more a testament to you all. It's only a good forum because of good members, that simple. |
