| I am not in the MOC section of collecting just yet but i think i am going to fall in them sooner than later. I guess it is inevitable if you collect. The very first star wars toy i ever got was the 12" line R2 that my dad bought me when it came out. It was awesome! Back to now. If i look at the vintage stuff that i started to collect i would say that the Mini rig energizer is the first MIB sealed toy i got in my collection i started a few years ago...
Like everybody else i guess i would want the early 12 backs But one card i would like above anything else is Luke Jedi Knight from ROTJ. I think the card and the toy are super cool plus it represent the total sum of the embodiment of Luke's journey thru the original trilogy.
What is your first card that you got or love the most?

| I only have two. The 1st i payed £10 for at a carboot sale and was a tri logo Wicket ewok. That was almost 20 years ago, well before i became a serious collector. Recently won a Klaatu on the TIG comp. I need to bone up more on MOC's before i move into collecting them. I'm still a novice and could likely be duped by some quality reseals. When buying a MOC on ebay does this generally mean they are factory sealed, or can you get resealed MOC's? |

| They say you always remember your first- it was Michelle, nope it was Heather I actually can't remember my first MOC, I think it was a few Hurricane Katrina survivors. Water damaged & cheap saved from U grade hell. Section 8 an ebay MOC can mean anything from recard to reseal to custom crap. Bud of the few MOCs I need to complete my ROTJ run- Luke Jedi is one. |

| As a child my first "MOC" or toy as we called them back then was Lando Calrissian Skiff Guard Disguise. When I started collecting MOC's back in 2006 it was the Rebel Hoth Soldier (shown below) and checking my records Lando Skiff (shown above) was my 5th. Subconsciously I must have a "thing" for Skiff Disguises!! |

| As for ones I kept sealed, I bought Teebo and Gammorean guard as a pair at the Malvern collectables fair in Melbourne a good 15 -17 years ago. Both were on ROTJ cards. I would have been between 10 and 12 years old but had the sense to keep them sealed, but not out of sunlight. Both now have urine coloured bubbles. I Learnt so much from that event but wish i could go back knowing what I know now. I remember a guy with bags of weapons for $10 people were buying like crazy. He had 100's and 100's of figures almost all $5 each tied up on racks. Think I payed $10 or $15 each for the carded figures I own. Also had my first and only experience with a vinyl caped jawa. A guy had him in a case alongside a Blue Snag and I overheard a debate over the release of the vinyl jawa. One was saying he was a US only release while the other guy said it was impossible because he had bought 2 locally. Many years later I found out about the Australian ESB Vinyl Jawa.... so if this guy really did find two it's given me hope I may be lucky there may be still more out there to be found. Soooo many other great memories. Thanks for bringing them back to me. - aussiejames wrote:

| The sad part for me was back in 85-86 i was close to a store that had tons of them. ROTJ and generation 1 transformers. I never bought any. They were cheap. I was in comics then. One of the great regrets of my life. I should have bought those. I would be close to be a millionaire right now. There was literally pegs upon pegs of them at that time and they were not moving because there was no interest in town for Star Wars , i could have snagged them all and be richer than that Zuckberg guy from facebook. |

| First MOC as a kid was Han Solo, I remember my mum taking me across to Liverpool to get my school uniform, about 1978(don't remember the buying of the uniform) but I do remember coming home with a Palitoy Han Solo, he had a blue/green see through blaster which I thought was strange at the time.I recall running to my mates to show(my fav character at the time). First MOC as a collector was a Tri Logo Vader, from Pansar, right here at TIG |

| Great thread! My first MOC as a toy, not collector I believe were actually three at once. Vader and two Stormtroopers if the stories are true. I had the early bird kit so I had to have some bad guys to fight! Apparently I screamed and cried a little to get them. My first MOC as an adult was about 20 years ago and that is my Palitoy 12 Back Vader. I didn't collect Star Wars back then, but it was the best thing I could get at the local comic shop with my store credit from winning a few local Magic The Gathering tournaments. My first MOC now, as a real collector, was the Leia Bespin 30B. Go figure. cheers! |

| Good thread..... My first moc has a little story.... When i first collected as an adult i put together a basic set of 96 loose figures. Now a chap on a market i used to visit at the time ocassionaly, used to run a small toy/scifi/SW stall and sell a few loose figs etc. He had come into a bunch of kenner 12 backs and was always up for trades and deals etc so we cut a deal for my loose set against four moc 12 backs...i think that was the deal I know i got Luke on canadian card, Chewbacca, R2D2 and Stormtrooper...I know i was incredibly excited at the time at the thought of putting a moc set together and although i am loose collector at heart i would love to get a Han, Leia and c3po moc 12 back to complete my first 12 run |

| I believe my 1st moc as a child was R2 on a Palitoy 12 back. When I got back into collecting as an adult, my 1st moc was a ROTJ Biker Scout. My loose childhood one was slightly yellowed & when I saw the moc I couldn't resist the brilliant whiteness of the plastic. Besides, it's a cool figure & it brought back a lot of good memories of when I used to get them as a kid.

| Loose figures and vehicles are my main thing, but I bought my first MOC back in the early nineties from a seller at a vintage toy fair. Along with an imperial dignitary figure which if i recall correctly was loose (no baggie) inside a mail away box. The MOC was a ROTJ 77 back MITW Bib Fortuna. It was mint and unpunched, I bought it for £15 and still own it, although the bubble has yellowed a bit, i no longer have the mail away box though sadly. Due to BIb being my first and only MOC, i decided to start a ROTJ 77 back jabba henchman run, mainly because these tend to be the most affordable MOCs around. So far in the last year or so I have collected six, including the recent Klaatu MOC i won in the TIG raffle. But my favourite MOC is my latest purchase, which is separate to my jabba henchman run. A ROTJ 65 back MIHK Vader in very good, punched, condition. I would very much like to start a Vader MOC run, but they are so damn pricey! Just have to keep saving and not be too distracted by other vintage goodness |

| My first was a star wars deathstar droid I had other moc's but they were like the newer ones and mail aways like george as a stormtrooper. But the deathstar droid was my first vintage one I beat out a guy on ebay for it for a great price of like $90 I now have around 7 moc's in my collection. |

| My first MOC was an ESB Rebel Soldier. He is actually my only MOC I own, I've been collecting baggies and mint loose figures. |

| Cool thread. I only have around seven or eight moc but plan on adding a few more in time. I'm old enough to have opened 12 backs as a child - can't remember the exact first one but I remember C-3PO, Stormtrooper, Ben and Darth as among the earliest I had. As an adult collector my first moc was a ROTJ Luke X-Wing Pilot, a nice example but one which I since upgraded to a clearer bubble. First MIB as child was an ESB Pali X-Wing Fighter, and as an adult the Bilogo Speeder bike

| Vader , R2, Biker Scouts?? I say Pish-Tosh to that nonsense As an adult my first were (I won an Ebay auction) White Bespin Guard, Nikto and 4-LOM on beater cards. The only redeeming one was the Bespin guard, and he was cracked open |

| Great thread, Bud! My first two MOCs which I got as a child were Chewbacca, and Stormtrooper. On Clipper 12-backs....Something, I will never forget. My first MIB was a Taun Taun which I got as a birtday present from schoolfriends who had gathered their money to be able to buy it. You can imagine how happy I was. As a collector, I mainly focus on loose figures, but I do have some MOCs. The first one was a Kenner ESB Rebel Commander. I always liked the figure, and he just looks perfect on a card. My first MIB was a Kenner B-Wing. |

| As a child my first one was a ESB stormtrooper brought for me by my dad, I don't know what card back it was, I wish I knew as I would pick on up. My first MOC as an adult was a ROTJ 4-Lom but he and the bubble have now parted ways with the card as he fell of the shelf and bust out big time, this was early 90's so there were loads of him about and I didn't think to much about the future. |

Bud of the few MOCs I need to complete my ROTJ run- Luke Jedi is one. James, You must have purchased a few from me back then. I recall coming across over 60 carded figures that were laid to waste by Hurricane Katrina. I'm glad you scooped a couple for yourself. Thanks again for the purchase. My first MOC as a child was for my seven year old birthday party: a 65 back Lando Calrissian in Skiff Guard Disguise. I really liked that commercial! As an adult collector back in 1992, I purchased two MOC figures at the time: a 65A Boba Fett (space background) and an EV-9D9 because I had never seen her before in stores back in the mid '80's. Picked up Boba for $10 and EV-9D9 for $20. The seller said the coin was the premium. Ah, the pre-internet-eBay days! Jonathan |

| First MOC I ever got was a wicket. Most of my other figures had been handed down from my older brother. Wicket did not stay MOC for long as he was the only ewok I had. I still have my wicket but long ago lost his spear. He has many scrapes (battle scars) from his days of fighting my other figures and gi joes.
I didn't get any other MOC figures until my collecting years began in the early 90s. I did a trade and got a nien nunb, rebel commando, and a real beater carded black bespin guard. They are still floating around in a box somewhere, but my main focus is loose figures so they stay packed away for now. |

| Ok, I have been lurking for a while now but today it's time for my first post. My first MOC as a child was Admiral Ackbar back in 1983 and the first one as a serious collector was... also Admiral Ackbar. |
