| Should all Takara figures have a Japan coo? |

| Good question. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in, but from my understanding, I think only the Stormtrooper, Vader, and 3PO do. Don't quote me on that though. |

| I know about C3-P0, Stormtroopers, and Vaders having a Japan coo but I never here anything about Luke or Leia. I have one Takara wind up R2 that says "Takara" and "Japan", and another with no "Takara" or "Japan" markings. I have wondered if the no coo version is from when it was unlicenced.

| I don't think all Takara's have to have the Japan COO. In fact I think the Japan COO is particularly hard to come by... especially on the stormtrooper.
I think the wind up R2 was also produced in Canada, so that may be why you see some with Japan and some without.
Hopefully someone else can chime in though with some more solid facts for you. |

| The Japan COO is on the alt sculpts, isn't it? Thats what I understand. |

| Are you talking about MOC's? If thats the case then no. It was just a sticker slapped on to figures so you can have different COO's. My Vader was Taiwan if I remember.

there are 3 'versions' of the wind up R2 with slight COO differences. The admiral has a picture of all 3, i'll find it latter. There is a slight difference in the chrome dome too. I'm not sure if one is specific to the Canadian release. |

| Wow I actually had a pics. Here is the back of my former 12bk Takara Vader. It was a Hong Kong (not Taiwan) but I guess the point still stands that they can 100% not be solely from Japan. |

| Yep - if youre talking carded, then the sticker indicates it was released by Takara in Japan, but in most cases the only difference is the sticker. Ignoring the wind up R2 for now (since I don't know much about that one ), the only 3 figures that come with a Japan COO are C3PO, Vader & Stormtrooper. All 3 have different sculpts in one way or another, and all 3 are pretty scarce. As far as I know these came exclusively on Takara stickered 12 back cards - thats not to say every Taraka stickered example of these 3 is a Japan COO - most are still the 'common' versions, which is what makes them so scarce! |

| One way to tell if the figure has a Japan COO is if there is no information under the proof of purchase. |

| I tried that Chris, it doesn't work, lol. Interesting stuff on the Takara coo figs too. I did some research & found this stuff out only a week or so ago (ask joetxtek!). Could have saved myself half a day lol. |
