| added Alex's ROTJ painting competition form and some other in-store promotional materials. Craigy's post at - http://www.imperialgunneryforum.com/t1099p100-collecting-vintage-paper-work-that-show-vintage-star-wars-toys Next is a John Menzies “Summertime Toys” Competition Entry Form:The art work on the front is aewsome! You had to buy £5 worth of Star Wars Toys; attach the till receipt to the form; identify the 4 figures shown; and finally tell the judges who (in 20 words) your favourite figure and why. The closing date for this Competition was 26th August 1984 and the first prize was a helicopter flight to Blackpool Leisure Park. Y-Wings and Speeder Bikes were 2nd and 3rd prizes.

| Not my own item, but fondly remembered by me, with a picture borrowed from elsewhere. UK retailer, prominent in Scotland, John Menzies offered this poster with every SW purchase circa 1983. Those of us of a certain vintage from Glasgow will remember how this shop used to be a hotbed of SW toys. Whoever managed it certainly knew to give up floorspace to Star Wars. One of these posters sold on eBay recently for its opening bid of £50. Too rich for me! |

| Artoo_Detour, I wonder if you could help me out with identifying an item.
I recently bought a Rancor Keeper Free Offer flyer. The thing is, the paper isn't quite what I expected. The paper isn't glossy and is much like regular paper that a home printer might use. On the plus side, it's very beaten up as I'd might expect from a thirty year old bit of paper that a kid once owned.
Is the one you own glossy at all? Help would be appreciated. |

| You're good by the sounds of it- put up a picture. It shouldn't be glossy. |

The glossy is found printed on the endpapers or back cover. The newsprint style is found more on the inside pages but can be found as endpapers/back covers too... usually in UK comics like Victor and Tiger and others that only printed on thin newsprint. What's on the back of yours? Is it part of the comic story that was inside or another advert? |

Oh I'm describing something different I think. What I have ( or hope I do ) is a flyer which was given out in toy shops as opposed to a magazine advert. |

Thanks James. Here it is. It could do with an iron. I remember piles of these beside the figures in toy shops circa 1980-whatever. |
