Hi Frank, did your smooth cape come off a POTF card for sure and which COO is it on the guide? Nothing to add for me this time that hasn't all ready been added. |

You can really halp to answer a question I have now for a long time! Your the ultimate source to do! I have noticed that some coos can have both bandolier molds! So there is two different bandoliers ( I think you have noticed) and I would like to know on which coos do you have both bandoliers??? That would be a great research!! Thanks Wolff |

| Lovely jawas everybody ! i've added some more pics to to my earlier post to keep them all together , i'm affraid my retirement home for well played with jawas is not going to be helpfull to find out which capes and blasters go with which figures since most of them have seen some action in their time. Wolff , there are actually three types of bandoliers : "flat" coo#1+4 "medium" coo#8 ledy "articulated" coo#3+4 I'll send you a pm to discuss the combinations further without boring anyone |

| Ok ,here we go
coo#1+4 as found in both vinyl and cloth capes have large eyes , a slim torso , flat bandoliers , slim limbs ,small feet and thin fingers with a tiny "nipple" on the thumbs.
coo#2+3 at least one of the two is also found in vc's (waiting for one to arrive in the mail) have large eyes on an articulated face , a large torso , well articulated bandoliers , thick limbs (shoulders) wide feet , thick hands (difficult to hold the blaster)
ledy coo#8 slim torso extra crease on the left cheek of the hood, medium articulated bandoliers , slim limbs ,small but higher and longer and rounded feet and thin fingers with rounded thumbs .
coo#5+6 have the same torso as #1+4 but combined with the #2+3 limbs with faded coo's
coo #7 have small sometimes different sized eyes placed both narrow and wide ,both ledy like torsos and bandoliers and #1+4 like torsos and bandoliers, ledy like but thinner feet, thin hands and rounded thumbs.
kenner coo#8 small sometimes different sized eyes placed narrow and wide, ledy like and #1+4 like torso's ,thin limbs , ledy like feet but flatter and less rounded, thin hands with rounded thumbs. i know it all comes down to cavities in the molds but it's interesting to see kenner had some basic models like coo#1+4 and #2+3 that have different sizes but usually they are put together in the right way, thick torso with thick limbs ,thin torso's with thin limbs .A not so common exeption is discolored #1+4 limbs , they can also be found combined with coo#2+3 torso's but i haven't found this combination yet without the discoloring.Funny thing about the discoloring is that i have only found it on #1+4 . A small body with #2+3is also a combination i haven't seen very often ,but that doesn't mean it's not out there by the loads. Since i haven't found a combination of #7+8 limbs with #1,2,3or4 torso suggests they were perhaps made at a different locations. The model of the #5+6 jawas combined with the simular plastic type might suggest they were maybe made at the same location.
Some of the differences in details on all these figures might be explained by the different types of plastic used at different factories but other differences are simply differences .Please keep in mind i am by no means an expert on these figures and i have a lot more questions than knowledge when it comes to production ,assembly , countries of origin and those kind of things. One thing i would love to find out is what the original sculpt looked like , i have seen pictures of unmarked handpainted figures in the awesome madbrownz collection and they looked like different models but their molds should be based on the same sculpt.Does anybody have a comparison shot of all known prototypes and preproduction figures ?

Question for Sith jawa , can you tell me what the coo´s are on these mock/ups ? To be honest, they are production figures that a Kenner Engineer "mocked up" as a possible bridge between the Vinyl and Cloth cape. Two were painted with brown liquatex paint and third with a brown magic marker. I have not inspected the copyright information closely, but it is there. I would think the COO's would be the same as regular 12 Back Jawas released on earlier SW cardbacks. I am very careful when handling these figures as some of the paint has chipped in some areas.. Hope this helps.. |

| Where were these mock ups found? Did you buy them from a Kenner employee? I'm sorry if this was already covered. Also curious if you have seen other mock ups out there like these?

Thanks Jason ,that's exactly why i'm intersted to find out if one of them is a 6 or 7 coo .Vinyl capes are commonly assumed to only show up on number 1,2,3 or 4.Since these mockups were produced while the vc was used these could tel us if the #6 and 7 were produced at the same time or not. When i look at some carded examples the face paint and hands look more like 6 or 7 but it's hard to tell from just a picture.

Hi Jason, please excuse my ignorance but I'm not entirely sure what these moc/up's are. Where they done before the production on the Jawas really got going and is it therefore safe to presume that the COO #2 would have been found on the 12back cards? - orangpendek wrote:

They are production figures that were painted ie mocked-up with a different color and scheme. Similar to the Black Stormtrooper and VAC Metal Tie Pilot, this was common back in the "old" Star Wars days. The jawas had already been produced with a vinyl cape, but the figures served as an idea that never went forward. |
