| I having trouble getting my sabre in!!!! Can anyone help me? I recently bought a beater Ben Kenonbi, but it did come with an original sabre with tip intact. Excellent i thought, that sabre will be perfect for my nice weaponless Ben, but no joy as the sabre will not fit. After closer inspection i noticed the sabre holder was narrower on my nice Ben. I don't wish to widen or modify it and I'm sure the sabre isn't a repro. Anyone had similar problems or any ideas what to do? Are there thinner sabre's that fit different Bens? One has no coo (thin holder) & other has Hong Kong coo. I hope to have pictures and a more detailed description later. |

| I can't say if the sabers vary that much for Ben, but in the case of Luke FBs I have seen the saber cavity vary from Luke to Luke making the same sabers fit tightly. I had one I was worried about breaking while I removed it so I lubed it up (haha) using a bunch of Olive Oil and carefully and slowly twisted, pulled and pushed until it came out. Not sure if that will help you or not but I doubt it would hurt anything to try. Good luck! cheers! |

| I have 2 very thin Ben sabers, both original, never really checked the cavity. I do have a Luke FB that has a half blocked cavity which in my opinion os the way it was molded and not an error, something that was probably altered at somepoint or retooled (the mold) the figure in question is the mustard hair No COO Luke (COO IV 2b in Wolff's new guide) This figure was widely available on Tri-Logo cards, some of which can be found with either the correct Luke FB saber packed in the bubble and not the arm cavity, or also with a Bespin Luke saber stuffed into the end of the end of Lukes arm. It's my opinion that this was because the lightsaber wouldn't fit into the arm of some of these Lukes because of the bad mold (eve the thin Ben sabers wont go through) so instead they packed the saber seperately or used the Bespin saber as a temporary solution until the issue was fixed in the mold. Sorry I don't have any pics present, I did do a thread a while back, I'll try and find it. I have had a couple of Lukes and Vaders in the past with stiff cavities as a result of excess flashing, could this be the problem? |

| I can't speak for Bens but with Vaders the Hong Kong coos/ earlier coos, mostly came with the flat transition tip sabers. which are slightly fatter than, later rounded transition tips, which came largely with the no coos/scared etc... So if you try to put a rounded transition tip saber in a hong kong vader its quite a loose fit. but if you try to put a flat transition tip into a no coo vader its a much tighter fit and in some cases is too tight and will not fit |

| Jesus! Grow up guys your all so childish Ignore them Mr. 8! Don't let there jibes about Ben's intact tip struggling to fit into your tight hole ruin your thread., it's not your fault that your 'nice' Ben has a narrow slot that wont fully accomodate a fully tipped saber and I agree that any attempt to widen or modify Ben's hole would be detrementle to your new toy. I think you can find Ben's with thinner weapons which may fit more comfortably in your Ben's tight slot, but they are harder to find and you may have to pay a little extra for a Ben with a smaller weapon |

| Thank you Alex ... thats much better I agree with Chris that the flat transition tipped sabers seem to be slightly bigger diameter than the mushroom tipped ones . I just checked my Bens - Dark Grey Hair No Coo Bens seem to have the smallest (tightest) saber holes - and most likely need Mushroom tipped sabers . White Hair Hong Kong Bens seem to have medium sized saber holes - and most likely need Flat transition tipped sabers (Lettered hilts ??) Light Grey Hair "Made In Hong Kong" Bens seem to have the largest (loosest) saber holes - and most likely need flat transition tipped sabers too . of course this is just my general opinion and I am sure there are exceptions - I am just judging by what I have in front of me to look at and test |

| I encountered that same scenario with also a Kenobi I have in my collection. Like yours, in excellent condition... just haven't been able to find a lightsaber that fits the narrow slot, if even one will? it_won't_go_in.... |

| I'm disgusted that my thread title be compared to some kind of dirt box or bomb bay door.
Some comments have made my stiff upper lip stutter like poor English actor caught with a hooker.
I tried putting it in the front and it slid in no problem until it could go no more. May need lube and forcing a little to get into the back door.
If that fails I'll treat it to a meal at a posh restaurant and get it drunk. It's the only way. |

It takes a posh restaurant and boozes? Just get some wine coolers and some pizza and tell it that it's special and the only one for you and I am sure it'll slide in and out just fine. |

| I thought this was a serious forum Mr. 8 please ignore my childish friends. I've been toying with a quick and easy solution to your nice Ben's 'tight Hole' problem. First of all you need to get hold of your Ben with a firm grip and then bend his arm behind his back and hold him firm so you have easy access to his tight hole while still making sure that he's not likely to slip from your grip. Once in position, take something long and hard, but nothing to big (you don't want to stretch his hole to wide) Once you've got your Ben into a firm position, jab the long hard tool into his slot, and then slide it in and out, repeat the process until his hole is wide enough to take any weapon of your choosing. Hope his helps |

| Seriously it's turned out not to be his tight hole, but excess plastic at the entrance. The sabre will fit if entered the other way until it meet the entrance on the other side.
A scalpel would quickly remove it, but I hate modifying a nice figure in any way. |

| Thinking back, I remember my pals' Vaders, Bens, and Lukes bought around the ROTJ era being made from softer plastic than earlier ones and some of the sabre mechanisms being a bit rubbishy. |

| Problem solved. I put Ben's sabre in my mouth which made it far easier to slot into his hole. Now nicely complete and on display.
Next topic is Ben's sabre's saggy end.
Why the fuck did they put such a flimsy extension on the end of sabre instead of just using longer sabre's the same thickness?
Would have been far stronger, but more importantly would have looked more like the real thing.
