| Hey guys - curious if anyone knows why all Ledy and MIM carded figures come with a small hole in the cardback right behind the figure? I've got about 4 examples now, and they all have this hole. I'm now thinking its normal rather than a tiny flaw I choose to ignore Anyone know why this was done? |

| I've heard rumours that the hole was to allow the figure to 'breath' due to Mexico's weather & tacky paint- not sure how true this is. It is false that all MIM cards have the hole- I have 2 squids & 3 gam guards without the hole. |

That was my theorie too! I think in later periods they noticed that the color stays or maybe gets (this is chemical also possible due flexibilizers in the plastics....this is what smells ) tacky. The hole should make it breath. I didnt work much....some are still tacky! I never saw one without hole! James are you sure these MIM cards have Ledy figures in it??? Wolff |

Wolff not 100% sure without opening them I'm just saying a lot of made in mexico cards do not have holes in them. One of my Squids 'fell out' of his bubble & it has a LL belt, the Gam Guards have the short axe, none have the hole. edit: |

| I always thought all MIM cardbacks have a hole (in the cardboard behind the bubble) because the atmospheric preasure change during a plane transport would blow up the bubble.
To avoid this they made a small hole behind the figure.
James are you sure that your cardbacks don't have this hole?

Uli 100% Yes. I even have a Ledy card without the hole (& I do have MIM cards & Ledy cards with the hole as well.) |

| I heard the same about the figure breathing, but the Biker Scout I got from John in the raffle doesn't have a hole either. |

You are right !!! also because of the bubbles lifted by themselves with the air that stayed inside the bubble .... Not all MIM and Ledy´s have that hole ! , I have plenty of Ledy´s and MIM´s without it!! |

Uli Do we know that the MIM figures were carded in Mexico? I remember a thread, which I'll see if I can dig up, where Tom N mentioned the weapons all being in a pile at Kenner and that is why some MIM figures have Kenner weapons instead of Ledy. --EDIT-- Link to thread |
