| Thanks for the links Marco, It seems that there are a lot of LL and MIM Rancors around, so probably the lighter hands and glue marks could be plastic degradation? still, all the LL Rancors I've had through the years have these characteristics, even so the one on the video...
I can add is: There are two type of Rancors, maybe all of them where made by LL, I don't know but still, the differences are very clear:
-Lighter brown plastic tone on hands and jaw vs the same plastic tone all over. -Glue line on body, arms and legs it's very noticiable and almost yellow vs glue not noticiable.

I don't have them anymore when I was collecting I had 1 LL Rancor with box and 1 with Kenner box, I remember I spent many hours trying to find differences between them without any luck... Now I know why. |

|
Just from my loose reference collection, there are 3 different LL Vaders, two of which match up to MOC examples (LL's, not MiM) Bill
I had no idea about this  Rancor armpit |

Did he mean small paint variations? 3? That sounds interesting... or probably mold differences?... I only know about 2 type of LL Vaders, No COO and HK COO, both look all the same, the main difference between them is the Coo, and that LL HK vader has a thinner cape, please take a look: LL HK Vaders front and back: LL Vader No Coo front and back: LL Darth Vader capes: Two type of capes for LL Darth Vader. Capes on the left are thicker (No COO), Capes on the right are Thinner (HK COO). Both type of capes have on glossy side and one dull side. No crosslinked grid on any side: Both type of capes have the same size:

Great info, Ozio!!
The HK and no COO Ledy Vader seem to be from the same COO family, so it makes sense that they share the same mould.
Do you think the HK Vader was released on the Imperio Contraataca card?

Hey Marco, Yes, it is possible but I don't know for sure  The No COO Vader in my experience can be found in much larger numbers against the HK vader, still HK Vader is not as hard to find as a LL 1978 R2D2 or a LL Blond Leia Bespin so, it could be but I still don't know. |

| Great stuff!
So it's hard for my untrained eye to see the differences between the No COO and the Hong Kong COO versions. What are the differences to look for? (Obviously besides the COO and cape) Is there paint or mould differences that I'm missing? |

| I have just finished updating the Emperor's entry. I think it was long due. EmperorPlease tell me what you think about: - the existence of COO #2/#3 for the Ledy Emperor - the worn COO#4 I summarized these issues below for you (directly taken from the Emperor's entry) - Dr Dengar wrote:
COO guide for The Emperor
NOTE: COO #2, #3, and #4 differ only in very subtle ways with respect to the exact position of the symbols in “© LFL 1984”. They therefore belong to the same COO family and do not indicate any mould differences. All Lili Ledy Emperors in my collection have COO #4 (‘’©” is at the same level as “LFL”). Maybe Lili Ledy also used the steelmoulds for COO #2 (no space between “©” and “L”) and COO #3 (“©” is upshifted relative to “LFL”) So in case you have a Ledy Emperor with COO #2 or #3, please post pics in this thread.
Lili Ledy Emperors with COO #4 (same two figures as in the pictures shown above).
The COO #4 on the Ledy Emperor looks a bit worn with less details. For instance the ‘©’ is more like a big dot and you can hardly recognize the “c” anymore. Similar worn or weathered moulds have also been observed for the Lili Ledy Yoda and Gamorrean Guard. It might indicate that Lili Ledy used old steel moulds which were used for full scale production in the Far East before. It might also be an artifact during casting of the figures due to different processing conditions and/or a different composition of the plastics used by Lili Ledy.

| I also updated Klaatu Skiff's entry. Klaatu SkiffI'm wondering what is the difference between COO #1 and #2. Wolff? - Dr Dengar wrote:

NOTE: COO #1 and #2 differ only in very subtle ways with respect to the exact position of the symbols in “ L.F.L. 1983”. To be honest the differences are that subtle, I don’t even see them . Wolff? Anyway, clearly these COOs belong to the same COO family and do not indicate any mould differences. IMPORTANT: The Lili Ledy Klaatu Skiff Guard appears with COO #2 (and COO #1), which were both used by Kenner as well.

| I also updated Prune Face's entry. Prune FaceStill a thing to discuss is his rifle. According to TIG's Weapon Guide and Ledy Guide, the V3 mould is uniquely linked to the Ledy gun. According to my information, this should be the V1 mould, which BTW was also used by Kenner. So what is the correct Ledy rifle? V1? V3? Both? - Dr Dengar wrote:
RIFLE: Prune Face came with a Western style V1 mould rifle. The mould is not unique for Ledy as it was also used by Kenner. The main difference is the colour of the used plastic: reddish brown (Lili Ledy) vs brown (Kenner).
REMARK: In TIG’s reference guide the V3 mould (see below) has been uniquely linked to Lili Ledy. This is wrong IMO. But I am open to suggestions.
V3 mould rifle. Having mould circles on the opposite site compared to the V1 mould. Source: http://www.imperialgunnery.com/theriflessection.htm

| Hey Marco, great work again! I've only found LL Emperors with COO #4 but I'll search for examples with Coo#2 and 3. IMO LL Prune Face's riffle has the V1 mould, haven't found a V3 yet I agree with you as the riffle for LL Prune Face has a redish platic tone, non LL V1 riffles also have a mark, something like a 1 or a small line almost at the end of the cannon, LL on top: |

| Just wanted to double-check that it's only Ledy Bib capes that have this type of lining (rough white embroidery?) as I think I found one. It seems unlikely and I don't have a Ledy Bib, so just wanted to rule it out. (Maybe these are another thing that's been faked?) I thought I had the Ledy Bib staff as well for a moment, as it's darker grey, but slightly browner than the other dark grey staffs I have, but it doesn't have the little circular indent unfortunately. |

Hey Ozio, some great input which brings the discussion a few steps further. Thank you amigo!! Emperor: Let me know when you find COO #2 or #3 on the Ledy Emperor. (same request for other readers). Till that time, I think it is safe to assume that the Ledy Emperor only came with COO #4. Any comment on the 'weathering' of this COO#4 on the Ledy figure? Prune Face gun: So we both agree, V1 - and not V3 - is linked to the Ledy gun. I will check my guns for the little mark. Anyone else? |

Hey Ozio, Wow that's cool. Thanks for the images. Here is the Cape. I'm sure it won't be Lili Ledy (I don't know how I would have acquired it.) but it does look about right (to me at least.) The staff one the right is the one I briefly thought might be Ledy because It's a darker grey than the standard (like the left one), but browner than the other dark greys (like the middle one) which based on what I've read is the colour the LL staff should be. I know it isn't LL though as it doesn't have the circular indent. Thought I'd take a pic anyway so you can see what I mean about the colour. Best WIshes, Jeremy |

| well I don't know how that cape got to you but that's a LL cape 100%, maybe you have a LL magnet the staff on the middle looks LL to me but without the small circle is hard to tell. |

How werid is that!? I can't explaing how that got in my posession. With the staff, just to be clear, the LL staff always has the circular indent? (There are no LL variants without?) Is the cape worth anything? I know the Burgundy LL cape is much rarer. As I don't have the figure or other accessories, I may just sell the cape. I did some research on Bib chest plates too. If I understand correctly, it is the one with the three circular indents, but there is a Kenner version that is the same, with the same indents and the same number on the inside, the only difference is that the LL version is a darker colour. Is that correct? Thanks for your help. I really apreciate it. -J |

| Yes, the staff must have the circular indent and the chest plate must be the dark one. Cape price: 20-30? |

| Cool, in that case, I definitely don't have the other accessories. (I have the right mould for the chest plate but not the right colour.) I might put the cape in the Classified section. Is that 20-30 dollars or pounds? (or euros lol?) Thanks again mate. (I am slightly worried that I had the correct figure at some point and sold him, traded him or lost him before I knew what LL was. Ah well, c'est la vie. ) Best Wishes, -J |
