| Hi Guys
In the coming weeks im hoping to paint the collection room but im hitting a brick wall when it comes to working out what colours to go with. Im toying with using the vintage yellow on a wall but im not sure if that idea would work well in reality
Any help or ideas would be much appreicated!
Also if anybody has any collection room pictures (it doesnt have to be your own it could be something you seen and liked) that they could post up for possible ideas that would be great!
Cheers Jay

| Jay, If I had a room I'd prob go for a light blue (bit like the sleeves of General Madine or 21B) as this provides a good background for the colour black (if you're showing lots of boxed vehicles/moc etc). However - I would also have just one wall painted vintage yellow to show some loose figs off. That'a tough one as it prob depends largely on what you're actually displaying in terms of colours. Blue - that's my thoughts dude |

| I'm with Paul on the using more than one colour. I'd be tempted to go black on two walls, vintage yellow on one and vintage red on another and some cool chrome lights. I think that would like smart and stylish and be perfect for multiple displays/sections.

| Well, depends on your painting skills. What about the white grey gradients border or the SW cardback but instead of just having border you could use it as the whole wall like so.... And then put up glass shelves to put all ya stuff on or glass cabinets. Just an idea ;-) |

Just an idea ;-) That would be awesome!! I think it would probably be difficult to do well though. The other thing is that when you display stuff, it's often better if there is very little detail in the backgrounds. Simple blocks of colour make the details of the items you're exhibiting stand out better. (Also would make the room seem 'cleaner' and less overwhelming I think) If you did want to go the detailed route, there's probably somewhere that makes those custom wall panels (Like giant adhesives) from an image you provide, so you could do tigerham's idea that way instead of trying to paint it? -J |

| Some interesting ideas lads funny enough i was thinking of having 2 different coloured walls and black came to mind i thinking a matt finished would look good! The i thought maybe a gun metal coloured wall might work.
Although i like the idea of vintage yellow i think it would be 2 much on a wall i might try and takes some pictures as it now and then i can test wall clours using photoshop.

Jay I think that's probably right thinking about it. I think in smaller amounts it would go well with the red and the black. Perhaps some kind of smaller accents? Sometimes you can paint say 1/3 of a wall one colour and the rest another? Maybe one or two smaller panels of the ywllow might look cool. As you said...testing it in a computer is probably a smart way to go. -J |

| Agree, def test it on photoshop first, I do all design proofs on my mac, in terms of interior design. Thats how I designed my bathroom on mac and came out sweet (in my opinon ;-) )

| I would go for light grey or light blue to keep focus on your collection instead of your walls. Or save time and money, don't use paint at all and integrate your collection with your walls, a concept tried out by the folks below, rather...hmmm...succesfully...I guess. |

| Hey Jay, we were just talking about this in chat. We think you should do something like this R2 collector Just do a Vader helmet on the ceiling and the chest plate on the wall. |
