| I just checked one of my Transformers news sites and saw this story on AFA fakes. I thought this was relevant as this could also creep its way into SW collecting if it hasn't already. |

| Man.. it never ends does it?
It's one thing to create a sticker with a random number/grade etc but when people copy existing serial numbers for identical toys then wow..
Double checking that database will provide false hope if there is 1 real one and 3-4 fakes out there.. |

| I couldn't see a link to the discussion on the forums over there and also it provides no pictures to show the real AFA graded figure and the fake, in my opinion its very important to see those comparison shots as we need to know how the cases look , the seals etc. |

Here's a link to their discussion. They mention it being discovered in their eBay forum, but I haven't found that thread yet. I agree that it would be great to get some pictures of what to look out for. For TF collectors this is a pretty big deal as a factory in China has been producing fairly accurate remakes in replica G1 packaging over the last few years. A scammer could pick one of these up for about $50, put it in one of these fake cases and sell it for close to 1k as an original to someone that doesn't know how to tell the difference. |

| Very disturbing news Shawn! But kudos for bringing it it to the attention of the SW community.
I can only imagine how bad this is going to be for buying "safe" rare SW pieces...
How many MOC are floating around or being proudly displayed in someone collection with the owner totally oblivious to the fact that what he or she is admiring is nothing but gobshite.
The only solution AFA can make I imagine is to change the holos and labels to prevent pirates copying new pieces. But what about all pieces graded to date will they all need regrading at the owners cost? and how long will it take before the pirates will be able to duplicate the new cases/lables. |

Well that particular sticker wouldn't fool me lol but spend a bit more time on it and get an identical hologram (that would be harder but not impossible to replicate) and you might be on to something. I would really like to see the cases also as I mentioned above, hope we can get some pictures of these "fakes" |

| On the other hand, this could make every figure a U-graded figure. |
