| Yep, you read it. I collect new stuff too. BUT....1. It has to WOW me. 2. It definitely, only, HAS to be from the OT. So, needless to say, I have very little left of the Modern stuff. I will ONLY support the OT goodies, and it has to be GOOD to get my $$$. How do you other folks feel about this philosophy? |

| Yeah that sounds fair. The only modern stuff I have is a mail-away Bomar Monk which I thought was pretty cool and a full set of the McQuarrie Concept Art figures which blew my mind. I love McQuarrie's work. But that is it for modern. I guess nothing much else "WOWs" me. But yeah each to their own. |

| I can honestly say I HAVE seen a few nice sculpts and some cool modern pieces but I guess the interest isn't there for me because I grew up on Vintage! Some people can't relate even to Ewoks/Droids as they had outgrown SW by then and won't collect them as an Adult even though strictly speaking they branch off of the end of the Vintage line just perfectly, explosions of colours, coins to collect, another set of figures to go after that still "fit" in a vintage display after you finish your loose set, yet they don't have the connection. For me modern is simply that, just toys I don't have any connection to. I hope thats not pissing on your parade just my opinion on modern One thing I am thankful for with modern is that it brings more fans into the brand that might keep the Vintage area alive years from now after they discover the history of the SW figure line. (These remade vintage packaging gimmicks help as well ) |

| Indeed.
I forgot to mention that I found some Legacy figures I actually want at HTS, so that spawned this thread. Since they are based on TESB, my favorite film, I felt the need to get them. I too have the McQuarrie figures and absolutely love them, and the new Vintage ones are pretty snazzy. |

How do you other folks feel about this philosophy? That sounds like a good way to collect modern to me. I probably only pick up one or two modern figures during the course of a year. The last time I picked up more than that were the Macquarie Concept figures as I wanted a full set of those. I thought they were a great nod to the man who visualized Star Wars before we had any movies. I also collected all the coins that year, but luckily was able to get my set via some trades and buying a few lots via ebay. I do still participate in the modern mailaways and am looking forward to seeing how the Rocket Fett turns out. |

| The only modern I collect is the AT AT Drivers. Now when the new vintage style set comes out, I'll get those. But I wont get anything other than the vintage style figures. The OT,Clone Wars, and other ones I could care less about. |

| I suppose some of the modern is OK, like OT figures not released pre 1985 ie slave Leia. But the modern stuff I have is just in storage waiting for Junior to get old enough to chew on them, bury them in the garden, set fire to them etc. |

| I considered buying the modern huge Millenium Falcon with all the neat sound effects- but didn't. Now the new At-At is on special (& comes with a speeder bike ) it's tempting. But it may be released with this box [img] [/img] pretty neat, even though I'm vintage I think & can hear Junior asking for one. |

| I would consider buying that ... I love the tip of the hat to the classic vintage photowork.
I did collect the 30th Anniversary figures and have a few modern pieces. But I haven't really done much since Episode 3 |
