Hi, finally after looking on here for a long time my first post don’t know if this question is asked already? Thx for taking a look and hope to here some opinions!
 I’m having a long discussion with some friends and now finally posting something on here because we can’t agree on it!
I have a 1977 sensorscope R2-D2 with a white dome? No COO.
By the looks of it there was never chrome on the dome?
All other parts seem fairly nice it’s in rough condition overall but then again for the age..

Had anyone ever seen an R2 like that?

I’ve had a few come through very similar to this. It looks like paint degradation. I had a C-3PO from childhood that lost all chrome paint from being left outside for a year or so. I mean this could be a factory error, but from ones I’ve seen similar to this in the past, it was paint degradation.

You should say that it its degradation but as you look at the dome there’s no sign of it and the rest is still very nice and you should think that if it was outside for or long time or something like that then the sticker would be gone as well?
It was my first thought also.. but now a buddy of mine says that its a lili ledy they have that issue with the dome… I’m still not sure..
I have loads of figures but paint wear looks different to me..

It’s not a Lili Ledy, wrong screw on the inside, and Lili Ledy was only for the original R2, not the sensorscope version. Best case scenario is this was a factory mishap. I’ve seen other figures come through as I’m reselling where the original owner removed paint sections on figures, unsure why. But who knows. The only market I would know who would pay for this item would be someone who does customs.

I was in doubt also.. but according to him there was also a sensorscope??
yeah you have some people who think they make it better by trying to costuming or fixing it.. i get that but that’s not my cup of tea better leave it beater or not!
I wasn’t going to sell it I like it in a strange way.. and you have to have a few well used items in the collection… then let’s leave at that’s its an error.. makes it a bit more exiting ..

Imperial gunnery has a Lili Ledy section and you’ll see that it’s just the original R2. The Lili Ledy factory did help package Kenner items for a period of time. So the Kenner package says made in Mexico with Kenner made items, but they aren’t actual Lili Ledy figures on Lili Ledy packaging. Those figures have unique features. But yep, I love having one offs and unique items in my collection too. All that matters is how you want to collect and what you find fun/important.

Yeah loving those tiny “mistakes” on the figures..
I just started collecting again after a pause for 25/30yrs thought I sold it all yrs ago but during the first lockdown here I wanted to clean up the attic and there it was… 2 small boxes filled with those that were left behind.. hahaha so now I’m infected again with that Star Wars virus as when I was younger..

Yeah i see that.. that takes a bit of the fun from it unfortunately..on the other hand the ones i have are also more valuable
If you know what and where to look you can still score some really nice items!! I sold all my ships and others yrs ago now only have the figures.. so keeping it small but still exiting
