"What happend here?
I step out for a while to pursue a life long dream and when i turn back after achieving it and there’s a lot of silence?
I would have thought with the release of the new trioligy there would be a lot to do here but sure looks the other way."
I actually was going to start a thread addressing this same thing. I haven't posted on here for years due to career and location living arrangements. Now retired and settled (but probably not in this dwelling) I am able to spend time once again reading and keeping up with the community.
I asked a friend about 2 weeks back the status of forums and his answer..."forums are dead and everybody moved to facebook". I took his reply in stride and it has taken me a couple weeks to get my butt on here but here I am.
I do recall the discussions began around 2014ish about FB vs Forums. I recall many, many long time forum users not liking the idea. The mentality was that comments and/or discussions would be buried and then buried some more and they were RIGHT!
As mentioned above I've had reasons for being away and that away time started in May of 2015. Here we are 4 1/2 years later and I am somewhat saddened that so many post were made months ago, and I only started looking 10 minutes back before seeing your post.
I'm not going to say FB has won but the evidence is very overwhelming. I'm back, I began my serious knowledge quest of collecting with joining this forum before anything else I did. I had a collection but no true knowledge of what it was I had. Before asking anyone, anywhere about Star Wars vintage collecting. I created my account here first and then created a RS account and then decided to Re-enter FB ( I had an account in '08 but deleted it in '09. This place had more patience for a Noob collector as I was and because of that I am loyal and shall remain as such.
