I folks, Responsible for creating some of the best loved children's science fiction shows, the legacy of Gerry & Sylvia Anderson was celebrated over a special weekend at the U.K.'s National Space Centre,..
Generations of children around the world have enjoyed & been captivated by shows like Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet, Space 1999 and, of course the iconic Thunderbirds:

F.A.B. !!!! T'shot, thanks so much for sharing the pics. What a fantastic exhibition! Beyond the usual suspects how cool to see some Terrahawks items. And those Space 1999 costumes are too cool! Some of the model ships are much bigger than I imagined. Love how the exhibits are augmented by books and photos too. Just brilliant. When I went to the TV toy exhibition in Coventry a few years back they had a fair few Anderson TV-used props and marionettes which were brilliant to see - but nothing *nothing* on the scale of this exhibition

Many thanks
I went on the Sunday, the second (and last) day of the weekend event, and had a fantastic day. The Space centre's a fascinating place to visit, their Planetarium show on its own's worth the entry fee, and made for the perfect setting.
Sadly, as he only attended on the Saturday, I missed the talks given by Brian Johnson the special effects genius who, after starting his career for the Andersons, worked on The Empire Strikes Back.

awesome - I have always been a big fan of Gerry Andersons stuff. Thank you very much for the great photos!!! Would have loved to inspect some of the mor unusual models in person. Are those models (of the spaceships and vecs) props that were actually used or models done for presentation?

Hi & thanks
The Moon Base Tank & Eagle 2 (the two with black backdrops) are both original screen used models, as is that Zelda Cube, just about all of the puppets on show in the display cases are (or at least use parts of) originals.
Everything else are replica's, most of which are studio scale.. the guys who make them are fanatical about screen accuracy, even going to the extent of using genuine vintage model kits to kitbash parts from.
I went to a Anderson convention back in 2014 where someone had recreated part of the Century 21 studios model shop, it was a fantastic display..
