Is this an original Lili Ledy Squid Head Orange cape and if it is does anyone know the value?

From what I can see I would say yes its a ledy one, as far as cost not 100% sure as it will vary with condition etc.

What is an "orange cape"? Is that asking about the brick red or often called burgundy cape? If so, then no. The collar is the wrong material. If your asking is it a brown cape that has faded in some way and is it ledy, the coo needs confirming and lots of closer pictures of things such as the collar, stitching, and material itself of the cape and inner cape. The belt also should have some numbers on the interior.

Thanks Bryan. I have asked the seller for some more photos and await his reply. He has it listed as a BIN at an expensive price for a regular Squid Head but what I believe is a reasonable price for a Ledy, but with no photos that can help determine with certainty it’s provenance.

its not a ledy , its a "rose" cape squidhead due to degradation . i have the ledy and the one your showing also . its just a degraded cape but very cool nonetheless .they are collected (me too) but its kinda known by the smarter collectors that its pure degradation . while theyre are a few ledy squids variants on the burgundy cape none are this color .. also what Bryan said ... i'll take some pics of mine to show a side by side comparison

like bryan said , look at the collars . now look at the colors of the capes . with ledy accessories theres usually an id'ing factor also . the differences are very obvious when you know what to look for . I see these degraded cape squids these day sell for 100 or more . some degrade some don't . hope this helps

The colour differences are pretty obvious when you see them next to one another. I guess I just didn’t realise the other capes could degrade so much. I’ve asked the seller for a pic of the Coo and the inside of the belt as I know that should have the LL on it. Cheers guys

Yep they do , funny how people collect them as a variant . My rose cape you see there was bought in the mid nineties by me assuming it was a lily ledy. I was wrong but its cool to look at in my collection so he stayed

You can see some of the ones people call "orange" in this thread as well as the pic of one changing. All these odd colors are transformants as kenner never used orange or yellow or any of those off looking colors.

This is where being colour impaired sucks the most, for me the one your wondering about look very close to the one on the right. One reason I use other factors to id them.

The seller never replied. Guess he knew it was discolouration all along. The listing sold though with a BIN of £49. Thanks for the info guys.
