Kenner did a brilliant job with this figure... I honestly think it's not only an important toy in the companies history but also for Star Wars.. I mean if this hadn't of been such a success would they of gone for (or even of been granted) the license?

Wish I still had my Steve Austin, same as yours with the engine block, and he still had his bionic modules. Had him up to a few years back but got lost on travels.
Those Avengers dolls look good fun with some nice accessories. Same with the Captain Scarlet figures - and how cool is the Action Man 007! Cool pics

A motion sensor brings him to life.. waving his arms about & lighting up like a Christmas tree
Back to Captain Scarlet, I had to eat a boat load of Kellogg's Rice Krispies to get this "free" figure (probably cheaper to have gotten him from a toy shop )
I did the same to get the Angel Interceptor..

Great likeness's (especially Cpt Black) & accessories but I wish the heads weren't so large.. I can see they're going for the Thunderbirds puppet style, but it just doesn't work for Captain Scarlet

Neat figures. This was a kids show or was directed towards kids? Not often that you see female characters so that is a neat aspect.

It's (Captain Scarlet) classed as children's television but I'd say it's much too dark for kids, it's suited older pre -teens, as there's at least one (sometimes fairly graphic) death per episode & the whole story involves a war of nerves between Earth & an alien race from Mars.
In fact the for a program produced in the 60's the (original) shows pretty progressive in it's outlook.. female pilots who all come from different countries & one of the male leads hails from the Trinidad.. of course they're all puppets but it's all taken seriously with no racial stereotyping... and the heroes don't always win.
The Captain Scarlet toys are really cool. Love the Kellogg's mailaway! Brilliant you still have that and all the packaging for it
I remember the show as a kid, alongside Thunderbirds, Stingray, Joe 90 and the like. I think Gerry and Sylvia Anderson were both top creative talent of their time with an eye for international adventure and intrigue.
I have a 90s captain Scarlet and the Mysterons board game, complete. Colours and graphics are outstanding I think.

The Anderson's were light years ahead of their time, in many respects they were the George Lucas of the 60's.. realising the importance (& money making potential) of licencing their creations.
Here's the "New" Captain Scarlet.. an updated take on the original using (then) cutting edge C.G.I.
It's good but the originals still my fave'.

You collect a lot like me. If it is something I like I will get it. This has put my collecting all over the map. I have lots of different toy lines and lots of different scales. Was all 3 3/4 action figures but have over time gotten quite a few 6" and 12" and then of course the hotwheels/ die cast stuff. Makes my collection very diverse in my opinion.
Those bonds are very cool. What line made them? I have seen that alien disguise figure before but not boxed. Was Joe 90 also a kid show product? It appears to be very similar to the captain Scarlett stuff.
