So I haven’t logged on in a bit so I figured I would come check out what’s new. My mind is officially blown. I cannot believe the amount of new items being reproduced. I knew about the AFA cases and AFA stickers being done but now people have Seriously resorted to repro DewBack reigns??? X-Wing canopies?? BOX INSERTS??? Really???
The amount of new repro stuff is enough to make a collector wanna quit collecting. Who honestly has time to drag a microscope to a shop, or a convention to inspect what they are buying. If I don’t log back in for a year what will be next? Full ship reproductions? Vintage AA Battery repros? It’s disgusting. Ok, sorry Rant over.

You're not bananas, we are seeing an increase in the amount of repros, types and new areas. What kills me personally is that most of these could easily marked overtly and the possible problems wouldn't even have a chance to thrive. The people involved also love to act as good stewards to the hobby as well, showing the small hard to see "R" tucked away in a corner of a box. It would literally take no real effort to change the POP to say "repro" of have a blaster clearly marked or a different color.

It was the Stormtrooper figures a few years back that really surprised me - making exact copies of figures right down to the vintage coo marks. More a middle finger up to Kenner than a custom imo. If repro makers think they're great 'customisers', 'fan artists', 'replicators' whatever, why not take pride in their work and use unique and visible stamps, logos and colours? Sadly the demand is in exact copies. Collect how you want, but a large part of the hobby now is a lazy market for collectors happy to mix repro with vintage.
