I have just bought a Glasslite R2D2 for a christmas pressy. Really pleased with the look of this figure as its unique. I paid $150 is that a reasonable price. Im happy with it so I suppose thats all that counts. But its hard to get any prices on this figure as there are no listings on e-bay not even completed listings that I can find!

I found 2 on ebays completed listings. They went for $86.00 and $122.71, but both were carded. I'd say you paid the going rate because they rarely pop up on Ebay loose anyway.

Chris is that the droids one though? the one I have isnt droids as far as im aware its different?

The one that ended for $122 is the POTF one just like your photo. I'd pay that for one, personally.

I got back in touch with the seller and offered $100 to try and get myself a bargain. The result was predictable. I got a flat NO. He wont go less than $150. Question now is do I wait and try and get another one cheaper or perhaps carded or do I buy his. He informs me that the saber is original glasslite, but as said the sticker is starting to peel a little at the back.

It may not be the easiest thing to find but one will poke it's head out. If you're not happy with it then wait. You may be pleasantly suprised. I started watching Droids figures a couple of months back and if it's any indication timing is everything. I watched a loose R2D2 sell for $152.50 and then a carded go for $175. Just a matter of who is looking.

If you paid market value (which it sounds like) then wait. It wasnt like you picked it up for a song.

As per our chat yesterday, I say you should pass on this. Given all the details of the deal, added to the fact that the sticker is peeling slightly, I think $150 is a bit much for this one.

Like John said, there will be another. And the price will be more to your liking.

Yes I agree unless he comes back with a yes at $100 which I doubt it as he said $150 again then I will wait until another comes up.

Mark my words, one'll turn up for sure. It's rare, but overpriced.

I will trust you all and wait. Lets hope one comes up in a better condition for less.

I have been offered a MOC in Good/Ok card condition with the exact R2D2 Glasslite I want for £130 posted. But again its more money than I wanted to spend even though the figure will be in better condition.

That seems a decent price for a rare MOC! Is the bubble clear or yellow?

Oh if you do get it i really hope its not to rip the figure off the card buddy there are very few glassite MOC's around

"Just had a good rummage through me cabinets, the Glasslite i told you of is in good/ok condition. Its the Error Droids R2 on the POTF Glasslite card, identical in everyway to the one i have listed. The only difference is the card condition.
Other than that Andy, i have 8 MOCs away being graded @ AFA. They are also all Glasslites."

What's the difference between the Glasslite and Droids R2?

The standard Glasslite R2 has a dome that looks a bit like the droids dome, but with a standard sticker. Glasslite also had a droids R2 which looks much like the normal droids r2.

I believe it is the middle one as he said it was the same as the one he had forsale which was the same as the middle one. Thats the one I want

Problem is as ever Finding one for the right price
I must have spent the last 3 hours today and the same on christmas eve looking at ebay and all the forums for classified adds to try and get a Han solo hoth with molded legs or anything of interest. The only thing that caught my eye was a lili ledy red caped bib fortuna. But that was about £480 which TBH was alittle bit much for me at the moment.

These R2D2 Glasslites arnt surfacing yet but again I didnt expect them to this early.

You must play this variant game in months not days(or hours) then you'll find goodies at the right price
