| The RulesHere is what we have set up for this competition: The entrants can only enter one item. No double entries! This is an “art” competition, so by using the largest definition of art, anything is fair game. Some examples of what we have in mind are: custom figures, "figure in action" photography, dioramas, actual drawings/paintings, poems, short stories, etc. The entries will be judged based on two categories: 1.) Creativity 2.) ExecutionJudges will be looking for how well the piece was made or crafted, as well as how complete it is. So for example, a figure that is custom made -- does he have weapons? Is the paint complete and does it look nice? How creative of a figure is it? (Is it just a repaint or are there actual newly molded pieces and parts?) In order to make sure these are not customs that have been done before, we are going to ask that all entries be based on the category of Jabba's Palace so the entry must somehow tie back to Jabba's Palace in some way, be it characters who were there, the structure itself or the overall theme of the Palace. All final entries pictures need to be taken with either TIG and the date written on the item or on paper next to the item. If you have existing figures or whatever from jabbas palace please make something new as that is the fair way to do it. Hopefully you get the idea, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact one of the judges: Judge list:DarthberizingDarthmatt22WalkieTrappedtexan (more to give opinion than judge, as entries will be judged by the above listed guys) This competition is open until July 25th, so all entries must be in before midnight on the 25th. We will then take time to judge with the winner being announced by the 31st. This is a one winner competition so we may announce top contenders, but only the winner will get a prize from the list below. The lucky winner will receive one of the following as a prize: - The Nien Nunb may appear glossy. I have owned it for many years and sealed it in a bag from a food saver thing when I was a teen. It doesn't appear to have any card damage or bubble damage, but I am not a grader or MOC collector so it might not be dead perfect. - The Rebel Commando has a bend that goes across the top of the card from the bubble to the top. The bubble is yellowed a bit on it. - The Nikto has a yellowed bubble, and when you look at the card from the side it has a slight wave to it, but nothing too bad and it looks good in a star case. The figure you choose will come to you in a star case, but the star case is not a new star case so it may have some scratches on it, but nothing real bad. If you win and you are a loose collector, then I can arrange a loose lot for you. None of my loose extras are complete since they are extras, but I do have some in nice shape. If you choose a loose lot, I will get some options together. I have a loose Han Carbonite with Carbonite block (the Han has been repainted) so that can be one of them if I can dig it out. We can work that out when we get there. Sorry for the upside down pics, they were right side up when I took them. The prize will be shipped out free of charge to the winner. Official entries: Roger aka: Teeksolo
The picture is pencil on paper with blu tack and cotton buds (cotton swabs, Q-tips) as the only other materials used. For a sense of scale Ree Yees is the actual size of the figure. [/quote] Larry aka: arohk
It's an all charcoal drawing of the outside of Jabba's palace. James aka: aussiejames

| Don't forget to read carefully guys. In order to keep it fair so it was more an apple to Apple instead of apple to orange type of thing we decided to make a theme. This way everyones work has the same feel. I am looking forward to seeing what people come up with for this. |

| Good luck to all entrants. At least Larry and Roger will have a go against each other. Now let's see if Clint, Andy, AJ and others from the vintage chat thread enter and get a good size competition going on. |

| We figured making a theme would be the only way to keep it fair. First it makes it so all the entries are based on the same subject so judging on creativity using this theme would be easier, and secondly so pre existing customs that guys have don't won't be reused (hopefully no one uses something they have done) thus making everyone start from scratch keeping it even. |

| Yes, please post all photos here. Ideally build in progress photos and final product photos, but final photos at the very least.
Keep in mind we don't have these in our hands so showing off things like sculpt, articulation, paint schemes, etc.. are going to have to be shown through the photos. For those doing paintings/drawing also bear in mind lighting and feel free to take close ups to show shading and other subtleties. For those writing, not much other than posting it up but if you do something creative with it like cover jackets or whatever photos of those will be needed. |
