So a friend sent me a link to an auction for a  "DT / Double Telescoping Solid 14k GOLD" Price? $600 bid, $1000 BIN.


From the auction description:
"Up for bids is maybe the most amazing thing ever made for a vintage Star Wars figure. This precision DT saber is  "SOLID 14K GOLD !!! ", this is not a gold plated piece.  This DT light saber is a hand made, hand polished display saber created by an Artist. The inner saber is at least 3/8" longer than a standard plastic DT saber making it even more impressive when displayed. The winner of this auction will most likely be the only person on earth who will own a solid gold Double Telescoping light saber. Serious bragging right's on this one.

NOTE: The Farm Boy Luke that is being used to display this saber had to be altered at the arm slot (elbow end) to allow "line of sight " to the hand hole in order to slide the saber into the forearm. Plastic sabers have to be bent considerably to get them out of a standard Luke arm slot, this is not an option with a precious metal saber. This problem is specific to the design of the arm slot on the Luke figure only.  This is not an issue with Darth and Ben since they have line of sight as stock figures and this gold saber works perfectly in both figures without any alteration. Please take note of this. There is a photo showing the alteration on this Luke display figure as a reference."

I also found this green one... half the price of a gold one but it does have a COA (COA! Whew! Id hate to get a fake fake).


I am glad that they are easy to see they are repro I guess, but the prices are crazy. Maybe cost of gold is up. or Green Plastic, not sure which.

damn if I were to pay that price I would get the gold one not a piece of plastic for the same amount

just paint up Darthie's mouth gold and pop on that gold saber for "DARTH GRILL" !
