Hey Guys have not been around for a while, busy with life work and summer, over the summer Ive acquired about a thousand , figures. which has kept me busy sorting. looking and comparing.

One that has me tweeked and questioning is a darth with a silver belt buckle- - He has the large © HONG KONG mar- not the really large © but the second largest HONG KONG

does not look like a repaint... and i see no white below .. all are white i've seen.
One theory the paint similar to the snaggletooth, which may have a silver- white degradation. ?

any one ever heard of such a silver darth buckle thing. factory error ? custom ? alien.

That is interesting, it would be great to see some pics of the figure as well as its coo.
I have around 40 Vader's and none have a silver buckle It could be due to paint degradation, but you would think that more examples of this would pop up.
Perhaps Oscar (M4K3R1) may be able to shed some more light on it.

Now an obvious thing to me is production. If this was factory produced silver then it would not be alone and even if it was a small change in production and a limited nmber produced its highly liely that another would have been confirmed by now especially seen as this is Vader, a major characer and the focus of many big time collectors.

Thee is of course one plain and simple way to check wether or not this is real or not..... Is the paint on the life support white or silver? If it's silver then the question remains as to what this is. If the paint on the life support is white then the answer is simple, it's not legit.

Only one mask would be used and they would not change one bit without the other so all the 'white' bits would be either white or silver not a mixture.

This comes up every so often, silver paint on Vader's bits.
Simple answer is it would be highly unlikely that it is anything more than someone painting the silver in.
Alex makes a very good point about the paint mask, the chest box and the belt buckle should both be the same paint.
Never seen anything other than white on vader's bits, on MOC which is all the proof you need.
If you get a chance, a photo would help.

so I was going thru the rest of the collection from the same person , and lo and behold - a Han Bespin with a silver buckle - both sides of him ... someone like to customize i guess

I kind of figured it was customized- ive gone thru hundreds of vaders myself and never seen silver..
I still will post pix- when i get time to shoot him.
