| I have a Darth Vader with no coo.I was told it was a maccano.I am not sure how to verify this.I looks like picture number 16 on the chart. It has a light saber with a thick rounded tip with 'd' on the hilt.I would appreciate any help with this.I can add pictures later. |

Use this guide to distinguish which Vader he is. I don't recall an exclusive Meccano Vader. |

| Some may agree with me, some not; but I am going to say this in regards to identifiers and labels for figures.
If you want to describe a figure to the best of your ability it is always beat to just say the figure and coo marking and any distinguishing characteristics you may see on it. Terms like trilogo has no meaning when off a cardback as trilogo wasn't a company that produced figures it was a cardback variation figures came on. Meccano is another that I hear often. Meccano is used for a small group of figures that are commonly found where Meccano toys distributed, but they are not exclusively found there and in fact last i had heard Meccano did not actually produce figures but just carded them. Palitoy is the same way as is Harbert. Many companies simply produced cardbacks and placed kenner figures within. Lili ledy, poch/pbp, glasslite, top toys (maybe others but this is off the top of my head) produced their own figures. Early lili ledy, poch, and takara were kenner imports that either came painted or it is thought they came and those factories painted them but that they were not made (plastic molded) by the factory at that time. Each of these 3 would later begin manufacturing their own figures with new mold (takara) or altered molds (pbp) or just used kenner molds but we have been able to determine they had some difference in paint (lili ledy).
The point to all this being when in doubt just describe it as what it is. This case a no coo Vader figure. Unless you know it came from a certain factory then there is no need to mix other terms up and it is a practice I see all the time that I think needs to come to a close. Thats just my opinion anyway. |

| I understand completely. The guy I got it from said it was meccano, but he couldn't tell me how he came to that because he didn't buy it new.I was just curious if there was something different about it.I am starting to learn about figures other than us kenner.thanks for the help everybody. |
