Did the Takara R2 come carded? I'm not up on my Takara stuff but I thought they were all bagged and available in shops in this display

I would believe so. Are there differences between the two you're talking about? Takara was the early licensee for Star Wars toys in Japan, so both would have been made by Takara.

Looks like i just need pix of someones Wind-Up Baggy R2's (Japan and Takara) ... Anyone?

I believe the first Takara's were only promotional - given to cast and crew by Kurtz and Lucas.

I got mine from a dealer who got Kurtz' collection in the 80s (after he left george) but he couldn't tell me if it was the promo or retail version.

I'm London at the mo with misses' family. I try and get you a few pics of my baggie this Sunday mate - what views would you like?.

Just a front and back view would be cool, so it kinda matches the Canadian R2 vid setup

Thanks for the pics Rob. I was wondering about the distinction. I'm just speculating, but I bet you'll find both of those in baggies. They were both made by Takara just one lacks the company stamp.

I believe it is Stu who has a Takara focus, so maybe he knows for sure.

Thats the canadian one though, the one released in Japan didn't come on card it was bagged.
