Hi Guys - I got this sealed Endor Leia the other day : My first thoughts are it is just a homemade heat seal and not a legitimate Kenner release  There are no markings on the bag at all . I know next to nothing about Kenner Baggies so any help will be greatly appreciated ... I just want to make sure it is not legitimate before I open the bag

Jim, Like you I'm not fully sure of baggies, I know that it doesn't match up to any of the ones described in the SWCA baggie guide (which is for U.S. baggies only) found here Leia Poncho wasn't a common baggie figure either, as far as I'm aware she was only available through a couple of U.S. catalogue multi packs, a JC Penney 7 Pack in 1984 and a Montgomery Ward 3 Pack in 1984 also. As for the bags they came in, not ure but most likely Kenner, the baggie guide doesn't show that bag, but does show a Leia Poncho in a Kenner bag. Hope this helps, but maybe one of our baggie experts can chime in here

I'm no baggie expert either, but I have seen similar looking ones sold in the UK. Hopefully Frank or one of the other baggie experts will set you straight.

I've seen these before too, but can't remember from where. Maybe they were overstock sold for Kenner Employees?

Legit! ESB-H style baggie, mainly found in later ROTJ multipacks. http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1079710/ http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1078449/

This is of course a good possibility, didn't even think about that, but now John's mentioned it I know that this definately happened at the Palitoy factory over here, a good friend of mine mine who has a collector's shop has told me about Palitoy bagged figures for employees in sheets, like your figure but 5 or 10 all together in a row with just the heat seal seperating them. |

Thank you for all the fantastic input fellas Those were some great links Marco - I feel more emajucated already I was this close to opening her so thanks for rescueing this Leia out of the hands of a idiot Any ideas on approximate vaule  I am guessing in the $40 to $60 range I only collect loose figures so this little lady will have to go I would like to see this figure go to someone who appreciates it for what it is , hopefully someone who needs it to fill a spot in there existing collection . Last thing I would want is someone to send it for "U gradeing" . Hopefully one of the TIG members will want / need this so I know it will go to safe hands .

Yeah as the others have said, this one is classed under the ESB-h umbrella, but IMO the SWCA guide is a little sketchy when it comes to this baggie type as there are a great many no text baggies that fall in to that category, I have several like the one you have posted, nice baggie!

Frank is your man for this one , but based on similar baggies I've seen for other characters, I'd suggest Palitoy/Euro multipack. So don't open it just yet.

I am by no means an expert on baggie figs I collect them and know most of the Kenner North America stuff. From what I am looking at the baggie does have the same look as other ROTJ ones I have seen, the heat seal looks right and that figure did come in a baggie. The only issue I have is that type of baggie would normally have words on it. Most of the nonword ones were a larger square type like the Leia I got from you. I am pretty sure though looking at the things I can see like the apparent age look of the baggie that it is a legit one. I am going to wait to see what Frank says as he is way better then I on this matter. But hey I do need that one bud hint hint

Palitoy & Europe never did any multi-packs only Kenner did them, sadly we were not that lucky buddy, we only got the woolies 99p 8 packs after the toy line went tits up |
