| A very dark cloud seems to be on its way for our beloved vintage figures guys, the weapons are one thing but this spells real trouble IMO, just how long till they get them so close you can't tell the difference |

| And to add insult to injury, 'dytoys' are stealing ebay pics (snakeriverman I believe). How long before these hit ebay? Ughhhh |

| I noticed some of the vendors offer samples. So does this mean they're already been made? |

| I tried to ask for more info using their email service, but you have to register to the alibaba site. The first link (mornsungifts) states they're made from polyresin. The second link (dytoys) state they're made from ABS plastic (a popular plastic used for 3D printing - maybe some of these are 3D printed?). I'm guessing they're all going to be non-articulated, like the Yak Face and Blue Snags we've already seen. For now. I also spotted some of our old friends on the Dytoys site too: |

I think these companies will be happy to make them to whatever specifications their customers request. From the site: Min.Order Quantity: 500 Piece/Pieces 1000pcs Star War Figuren Supply Ability: 500,000 Piece/Pieces per Month Ack! Hopefully even the most die-hard repro makers will take a moment to realize that if they make tons of these things, and make them so well most people can't tell the difference, it will crash the hobby and cause the market value of the fakes and originals alike to plummet - which will rob them of their precious, ill-gotten income. Alibiba itself seems to be an unstoppable giant: "Chinese Internet giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. officially filed plans to offer shares in the U.S. in a deal that would value the company at more than $100 billion, confirming the scale of its e-commerce operations ahead of what is expected to be one of the largest stock listings in history." We know just how much value some of these companies puts on respecting copyright and trademarks... |

| It's not just 3 3/4 figures. This is really bad.

This is scary: "Supply Ability: 200,000 Pieces per Month" Once they start producing them, they'll be everywhere. |

| Looking at the listings does anyone else get the feeling these companies are fishing for business? And don't actually make the figures yet until someone places an order?
Otherwise we would have seen loads of these on eBay.

| Just keeping this post alive due to its scariness! Has anybody had any one of these fake figures in hand to compare to the originals? There has got to be difference between the two to tell the difference! Such as most repro weapons sinking in a water test, etc... Plastics used in the 70's and 80's are vastly different than the plastics used today... Or is that wishful thinking in this situation? There's gotta be a way to weed out these fakes from our beloved hobby! |

| I have the "Crazy Toys" repro stormtrooper pictured above in the thread.
No-one who is familiar with real vintage will be fooled by this. The plastic feels flimsier than an original, and the hands are practically ready to fall off. Blaster is glossy and unconvincing.
But it has a COO marking just like a real vintage figure so some may be taken in by it. And if there is a demand for them, the repros will only get better.
Cheers
