| Another prop nut! Eeeeeeexcellent. I envy you your MR Falcon. One of my best friends got the signature edition and ended up with plate number 4! I have a few MR props but I'm mainly one of those insane do-it-yourself guys. I'm on most of the major prop related forums under the same screen name. Actually my interest in collecting action figures is more of a sideline for me related to my Darth Vader collection. I've tried to keep my Star Wars collection focused specifically on "A New Hope" for the most part but I've made a few Fett related exceptions. My prop interests are all over the map though--Doctor Who and Star Trek (classic series) are my favorites apart from Star Wars but I've got bits and pieces from lots of different movies. Actually most of my prop collection is "bits and pieces" sitting in boxes waiting to be put together. Some of my Vader helmets: Original Graflex with original Exactra 20 bubble strip: Brade Runnah Coyle kit: Christmas 2009 Cyberson: This is a Don Post Deluxe Vader helmet that I got second hand. It was pretty bashed up and I restored it and made some improvements. Now he sits on my desk at work: Any more prop guys around here? Dave |

Jay I have the same problem Jay--only in reverse--I can't afford expensive action figures because of my Prop addiction! Thanks guys--I might have to wrangle all of my helmets up and take some pics. I've not done that yet. If you're interested here's a thread I started over at the Replica Prop Forum detailing the work I did restoring the Don Post helmet. All of the pictures are on the first page. I have also upgraded the chin screen to be closer to the screen used stuff since this was written (actually you can see it in the pic of the helmet on my desk): http://www.therpf.com/f9/don-post-deluxe-vader-restoration-project-finished-pic-intense-new-pics-page-3-a-53841/ Cheers, Dave |

| Good to know there are also Imperail Gunnery forum members who are into STAR WARS props and replicas. My current project is to convert a reasonably priced Black Plastic moulded Mauser BB Gun into the DL-44 version used by Han Solo in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Will post up the pictures when my conversion and modification project is finished. |

| Burnsy, the Jango Fett costume you've made for your son as shown, has put those Mandalorian wannabes and Rubies wearing "fans" in Malaysia to shame. WELL DONE! |

For the stormtrooper helmets i can help you ive got 3 an AP,a TE HDPE like THE original ones and an MR LE. The markings on the ANH helmets are all handpainted ESB are decals. If you want to keep it original purist like than the lenses are green but its plastic like foil and not stiff lenses. The brow and necktrim are rubber window seals. If you need any info on stormtrooper helmets and armor do not hesitate to contact me i Will help you out. As for sites there are à couple the FISD,RPF,.... if you need links let me know i Will post them when i'm back at home. Hope this helps à bit |

| Burnsy beat me to it. Jez's site is the last word on all things Star Wars and helmets...
Man, I remember the Don Post helmets back in the late 70's and 80's. I still have the Don Post Vader helmet I got back in 1981. Funny how they all seemed so "life size" and so much like the real helmets when I was young but when you look at them now--yikes!! Even the deluxe helmets they did in the mid 90's (have a Deluxe Vader too) are such a long way away in the "accuracy" department.
I'll be happy to share any info I can as well. I've had a number of Stormtrooper helmets over the years and am down to a TE ABS Hero currently as I'm more of a Vader guy.
Cheers,
Dave |

| Hi guys thanks for the info. Im looking for info on ANH stromtropper masks. I have one that looks vierd . Fx the "brick walls " on the sides are blue decails. There is no padding in the inside etc. I don't have any pictures right now that had made it much more easy. I can not find any info on that type of mask , with pictures . Thanks Soren |

| Thanks Dave This is just the pix and info i was looking for. Your info was more help full then any of the sites you guys pushed. The mask i have looks just like the one you have striped down. But it has just a small round hole for the ears ca 10mm. And the eyes are not cut out but drilled out small holes and paintet black. It has the foam "brow" on it And it has the 20th century (c) on the back but its missing the Fox , but has FILM CORP 1977 instead of it . When you look at it from the front it is slightly off in the dimensions , its like the left and rigth are not the same. It has been sugestet to me that it might be an pre-production mask . Giving the story of where it came from and the info that you have given me Dave. I think that it might starting to be posible. I promise to to share the complet story and pictures with you guys later on. What do you guys think ? Also any info on Don Post 3 pice shiping boxes would be nice . And any info on how to clan up the helmet and rubber masks Thanks guys i realy apriciate this Btw. Nice story with the guy and the credit card. Love storys like that. Some memorys just stick with us |

| Sounds like it might possibly be one of the later re-issues. I pinned the re-issue with the holes in the eyes to the early 1990's because that's when I got the one I had--I'm thinking it might have been 1992-93. I was looking at Rebelscum and they said that version was released in 1988. I'm almost positive the brow was solid on the one I had and not foam but that doesn't mean that it wasn't a variation. Maybe the "holey-eye" helmet started out with a foam brow in 1988 and was re-tooled with a solid brow in the early '90's? I'm just speculating. Here is a "Holey-eye" helmet from 1988-1990 (not mine): I gave the one I had to my brother when the 1995-6 reissue came along with the see-through lenses: I sold that one off years ago after I discovered fan produced helmets that had lineage back to screen-used stuff As far as cleaning goes outside of some good dish soap or even some dishwasher detergent I don't have any recommendation. Looking forward to hearing more! |

| Hi guys Back in 1983 there was a toy museum in Copenhagen Denmark. They did a special Star Wars exsebision. They got some suff direct from 20th century Fox. Along with other stuff they got some Don Post Studio masks .Which were all used in the exsebision . There where more masks but the rest have ben lost to history . The museum closed over 15 years ago . This lot is not just special becuse of the history of the masks , being used for a museum exsebision . But also becouse they come dirct from Fox . There is even a very rare Don Post Studio 3 pice shipping box in this lot . It has written by hand that it contains 3 pices of 2009 wich are the order number of Klaatu masks . This has been crosed out and on top of the box is writen that it cantains Admiral Ackbar Klaatu and Gamorrean Guard I still have the Admiral Ackbar and Klaatu masks. The box also has half of af an air cargo decal on it. But the coolest thing is the to and from deacal . It is sendt from Fox in the Uk to Fox in Denmark . Under that there is another To and from decal but it is not posibil to make out what it says . This box and the masks is a forgoten pice of Danish Star Wars history . Klaatu mask Wicket mask Amiral Acbar mask Has lost the plastic that is the front of his eye . Can easy be glued back on . As it is only the old glue that has dryed up over time. Dart Vader mask. Is missing some pices of the top pice. Big pice on "his" left . Small pice on his Right and a small pice on the back. I think that if this is retored it could be very nice again. Pictures of the the display boxes. Both has the name of the carator that is the same as the the name on the star on the box. ( The hand wrighting is tha same as on top of the shiping box ) Both boxes are in very nice shape C 8,5-9 Weequay box Vader box The very rare shiping box The box open with the two boxes in it. As im not into masks and don't have the the room to display the shipping box. Im open to trade offers . I will only trade this for something special and unik as this is a very rare lot. Read more in the classifieds Thanks soren |

| WoW! That is an amazing story Soren and an awesome find. "The Toy Museum closed..." Those are very sad words. The foam brow on the Stormtrooper is just ordinary weather stripping. You can get some at the hardware store and fix him up! Those Don Post boxes look just like the one that came with the Darth Vader mask that I have--mine is even slashed in the same spot! |

| Thanks Dave Yes it is sad about the museum . I can remember being there as a kid . But the only memory that remains is that of a HUGE old doll house they had. It was made by some rich guy for his daugther , and i remember it was about two meters on all sides and had lights an every thing. I where very impressed The Vader box i have is not slashed , but i can see it looks like that on the picture . I have the pice missing on the Strom Tropper Helmet so i think i put it on and keep it vintage all the way What do you think about the decal on the "nose" , is it the same as the ones you had ? Thanks Soren |
