Instead of doubling up figures in my main glass display cabinet I had this idea for my variants. I'm sure I'm not the 1st to frame figures, but find these deep frames perfect. I've picked up 5 or 6 different sized frames so hope to post a few more when complete. I cut the background out of a battered ROTJ story book.
What do you think?

Nice!
I like that idea a LOT! I might steal it for a Leia Bespin display that I really wanted to display one of my favorite variants alone but with a background of Cloud City.
You just gave me a ton of ideas to play with !

Can't wait to see more!

Luke at his homestead with Ben?
Han and Chewy in front of the Falcon?

Man... the possibilities are endless and you could even swap out the backgrounds every now and then to freshen it up a bit!

cool stuff, Andrew!

cheers!

What a great Idea Andrew    the box frame lends itself really well to this type of display.
Perhaps a panoramic frame of the first twelve would look great too, with a copy of the early bird envelope as a backdrop  thinking

WOW! Great minds!

When I was building my display I considered using a print of the background for the early bird mailer stand part.
I toyed with it but in the end went with tiny 1 x 1.5" cardback fronts of the first 12 but the first idea was in my head for a while and I did like my mock up of it.

The outside of the certificate might look awesome too with its extra bits of red to add some more contrast and color.  thinking

cheers!
