We all love Star Wars, that's why we ended up here, but as much as we all love Star Wars, after this long you just can't help pulling it to pieces. So thought I'd start a thread where you can all post your favourite Star Wars stupid moments.
Here's my favourite, porkins is about to die and Biggs actually says "eject" ??? eject to where? it's space! Surely the instant death of being blow into space dust would be better than any death that awaits you in the cold, airless space! And should he find a breathing mask, what then? He lands on the very thing they're trying to destroy, so dies anyway!

I would say mine was at the Battle of hoth where Luke says the armor is to strong for blasters but then a walker is tripped a snow speeder flies at it firing and boom its gone.
As far as the Ejection idea though George did actually think about this before he made the movie, the ejection system known as a Guidenhouser Ejection system same as what is on the Y-Ying, works in the same manner as the F-111 which uses an escape pod method for the crew to escape.

Where's the Escape Pod fit on an X-Wing, and would porkins fit in it?

The X-wing's cockpit module which is basically the area around the canopy is the area that blows away from the ship.
Here is a photo of a cutaway model of the area which would be completely sealed of course of the escape pod
And here is the escape pod of the U.S. F-111 which came out in the early 70's same idea

Oh and here's another one for you all it relate to Leia's memory of her mother. In Return of the Jedi that Luke says, "Tell me about your mother, your real mother." Leia tells Luke that she only remembers images of her mother, that she was "very beautiful, but sad." The major question is this: how does Leia remember her mother if she was only alive together with her mother for a total of one minute and Luke who was born first has no memory.

I would be willing to bet exactly $1,000,000 that George didn't didn't think of an ejection system known as the Guisborough Hooker or what ever when writing Star Wars, almost certainly came with all the other technical data.. later. Thus rendering my original post a stupid bit again
That's not a stab at you Guisborough Hooker, I still love you babe

I will go with that then. But considering then that George didn't think of that. So that being the case what about the ships, they wouldn't have been able to get to the death star as they would have no way to maneuver in space, they would need some form of maneuvering system like the space shuttle or the way they did the Vipers in the new BSG which clearly the ships don't show little rocket thrusters so there is another stupid bit.

Good point, I never thought of it like that, I guess he thought of absolutely everything while writing it.

there is still lots of stupid bit's though I am still seeing what else I can find supposedly if you watch the ESB the asteroid seen and are able to see it close enough there are tie pilots ejecting before the ships explode.

I just finished watching the asteroid part nope didn't see any one bail out unless it was that little object that looked like a man on fire then hit another asteroid, that would suck lol

It's on tomorrow on T.V. I'll see if I can spot one
I guess the thread is flawed though, 35 years of people plagiarising George's original thoughts has pretty much covered every angle and left the films flawless Maybe when the AT-AT fell, the massive weight + the height from which it fell weakened the armour, maybe the AT-AT had a shield generater that was knocked out by the fall, not impossible I guess, 30 years earlier single droids had them.

Even with all the info out there there is still stuff that is stupid in the movies so I am going to rewatch them including the new ones 1-3 and I am sure we will see some strange stuff lol.

Since we're just rambling..........
The AT-AT basically has a massive cannon chin gun that can blast apart anything. So why, when it shoots a solider who's only got a jacket, does he merely fall over? Yeah he's dead , but shouldn't he have exploded?

“ I was going to the Toshi Station to buy some power converters ”
completely ridiculous - we all know that the only place that power converters could be found on Tatooine was a small black market dealer in Mos Eisley
even more ridiculous - Uncle Owen saying Luke could waste time with his friends later ... that whiney bitch couldn't possibly have any friends

The reason the AT-AT exploded after it fell is because the upper neck is the weakest part of the armor.

THAT is awesome!! Did you modify the Trench Run X-wing? It looks like the TRU exclusive ship.

how about when the gang is blasting their way out of Mos Eisley, all the good guy's blasters are knocking huge chunks off the walls and ceiling as they miss their targets, but when they hit the Stormies, the Stormies just basically go "ouch" and die. Most of the damage from the blasters in Ep. IV seem to do that from both the good guys and baddies. Super powerful on non-live objects. Its like the blasters are meant to obliterate concrete and space-metal, but just barely harm flesh.
And don't get me started on how Greedo missed when he tried to shoot Han first. Surely his eyes were large enough to see a couple feet away... no?

This one has always made me laugh ...
even though she is being held and escorted by several Imperial's , Leia is able to break away a second time to yell it's a trap
also steals poor Ackbar's big moment before he ever got to say it

I guess Jeremy isn't strong enough to hold a girl without his Boba Fett armor on and the stormies can't see a thing in those helmets as Luke would say lol

..But what a fall. Best bit of acting in the whole of the Star Wars films. It must of missed and made hole which tripped him up. It was such a convincing fall that he must have pretended to be dead so it didn't shoot him again.
In ROTJ Leia claims to have always kinda known that Luke was her brother. Didn't stop her laying a big smacker on his lips in ESB.

Wish this thread hadn't started. I just watched the end of ROTJ again for the second day running and noticed numerous errors.
In the "strike me down and path to the darkside it complete etc" scene, Luke's light sabre is clearly on the wrong side of Vaders and could simply be moved to kill the Emperor.
Later on after Vader throws the Emperor do his demise you can clearly see a bend in Vader's supposed handless arm. Ah, the old hand in sleeve trick.
Also was the remastered version so had the ghost of young bell end of a Anakin Skywalker next to an aged Obi Wan & Yoda.
Why when supposedly re-releasing a new improved, remastered etc film, did they not touch up all the glitchy crappy looking bits. You can still see the boxes surrounding the TIE fighters in the space scenes. And could completely chop out the Lost in Space style Rancor finger scene as to be honest, it's fucking awful.
I'm probably a little late to be having a rant at Lucas. Also a discussion for a different or old thread.
